I regularly take 500mg of tramadol along with 4 or 5 glasses of jack Daniels. I have no tramadol and was wondering what kind of high I would have from mixing Valium with alcohol. I tried Valium with tramadol last night and it didn't do much except make me tired.

This isn't appropriate for Support.

I'll move it over to Basic Drug Discussion for you.

And to answer your question, you will more than likely just black out. Mixing alcohol with benzodiazepines such as Valium (diazepam) is asking for that sort of outcome. If you're drinking liquor, it will be hard to avoid blacking out.

I've done this more than a few times and wouldnt advice it at all, you will mor thn likey black out, if you are going to mix the 2 work up slowly with the alchohol and only do this in the safety of you own home, or you'll likely end up im a police cell!

What would happen if I either just took Valium on its own. Or mixed it with codeine based pills like solpadol

i had a seizure on 250mgs tramadol and 1 shot of vodka, but i have epileptics in my family so idk...

i've taken tramadol multiple times after that (soo fucking stupid but i love opiates of any kind), but out of all my times taking tramadol, i have only drank on it twice. once when i had the seizure, and another time with 100mg + 350mgs lyrica in the morning, and then i had 2-3 beers and smoked weed at night. i was fine; i never push more than 100mgs of tramadol anymore after the incident, and i always try to take a benzo like valium or klonopin which has anti-convulsant properties.

to answer your question, if you plan on taking tramadol often, i would combine a low dose of valium (5-20mgs) or klonopin (.25-1mg) with it. you don't need the alcohol though, trust me...

Benzos + Alcohol = Potentially very fucked up, and dangerous, but it is and can be done if you don't overdo it. If you have no benzo tolerance, try maybe 5 - 10 mg (probably 5 would do for a noticeable increase in relaxation) Valium before drinking, and drink slowly and cautiously. Really don't overdo it, which can be hard advice to follow because your judgement will be out the window on this combo. It is a fun combo but not like tramadol and alcohol.

remember that alcohol lowers the seizure threshold so combining it with tramadol alone could prove to be a problem.

what doses are you talking here? how regular is your tramadol dosing and can you compare tolerance to typical opioids?

^^^

In the ninterests of HR I'd agree, but if you have a tolernance and experinace of each it can be a very potent combination. Like I said don't try this whilst out and about, I was doing this at the evry peek of the alcohol misuse, its defintely in the drug "abuse" catogory, even getting up the stair to my bed was a challenge and could have lead to personal injury.

Personally I find with taking a couple of Valium&drinking (even if only the 1 or 2 beers) ,that there's a risk/tendency after a few blueys to forget NOT so much HOW much you've taken BUT when you've take them, esp if you've a tray or so knockin' about, also due to the nature of Valium you lose the inhibitions/basic sensibilty you normally would have allowing you to be you somewhat more cautious about your dosage. In essence mixing them both is not the most sensible idea, if you feel you must do it TRY to involve very little alcohol. As for the Tramadol I couldn't comment on that as I have no experience in that area.
Peace Out and stay safe mate :)

The only experience that I have had with Tramadol was when I was prescribed them for pain and I used two to four pills(50mg each I think). I started to combine them with poppy tea about 1 hour after taking a Tramadol dose, so the tea rush came in whilst I was already under the Tramadol influence. This combo was one of the best combos I have ever tried, I have a very high opiate tolerance so please don't try this if you don't.

With valium and alcohol, I am very experienced. When I was addicted to opiates, I quickly found out that this combo could produce euphoria if done correctly(when I was out of opiates :) ). I used to take 5mg of diazepam and as soon as i felt them coming on, quickly drink three straight shots and that was it, no more of anything. It actually felt pretty good and got me through some tough times without opiates.

It is dangerous though and lots of deaths are because of benzo and alcohol mixtures, so please watch out and know your own tolerance, that was just my experience.

Peace
