I know this is going to start some shit. But hear me out.
Back in the day, when i was a bit more serious about my lifting rutine i was looking for a way to boost my growth and performance in the gym. i started reading up on steroids and some of you may remember me from a few years back when i started asking about different cycles and whatnot. I eventually decided steroids were not worth the risk. I'm already pretty big, and i am not a competing body builder. I have naturally good genetics so with hard work and dieting i naturally get pretty large. (picture posted in picture thread)
however, i like drugs. no bullshitting. I'm currently in school to attain a Master Of Fine arts in painting/drawing which is a terminal degree(equivalent to phd) so they haven't held me back much, and although i'm no Austrian oak, i'm not a shrimp either. At this point in my life, i pretty much only take prescription opioids since i am prescribed them for moderate to severe pain in my left knee associated with several traumas.
several times, when taking the medication, (hydrocodone) i would be buzzed, of course, and head to the gym. I normally do one body part for 12-16 sets per day, for an average of 30 minutes. under the influence of the meds (not nodding out mind you- just buzzin') i would be able to do 2 bodyparts for up to 20 sets per body part, in roughly the same amount of time, maybe 45 minutes or so instead of 30. I would almost never rest, and the drug allowed me to push through discomfort, and the buzz increased my confidence. i have sometimes a lot of trouble getting motivated. since i've been lifting for about 6 years, i sometimes get bored of going in, or i'm just tired from teaching or work. caffeine helps but it messes with sleep patterns. any other drugs like amphetamines don't help, they are too distracting. back in the day when you could gas station pick ephedrine, i'd pop those to pretty good effect, but nothing beats a low dose of hydrocodone for going to the gym.
i know what you are going to say "going to the gym high is irresponsible" Chill out guys. I'm not talking about going sloshed, i'm talking about a little buzz. there are guys way more jacked on redline and ephedrine in there lifting than i ever am on my few vicodin.
so, does anyone else here find drugs other than the normal stims help when they go to the gym?
