Using Home Depot brand acetone in a wash.

I would think any acetone from a big name hardware store would be suspect because of it being used in some methamp production techniques.
 
You are correct, when I inquired about it, the gentleman told me that the max size they carry is one liter because of its uses for creating illegal substances
 
Most convenience stores also sell a "100%" pure acetone nail polish remover. Leaves no residue when evapped. Can't imagine too many adulterants purposely being added for that kind of product.

I am going to make this short and simple. If you have further questions I will do my best to explain in detail.

*acetone is a solvent.

*For most people in the USA (basically all) all yayo is stepped on (cut) to some degree.

*acetone/ether (don't use ether) are used to convert cocaine salt into it's freebase form. Usually for smoking

*converting to 'base will remove much of the water solvable cut.

*don't want freebase than back to soft (salt)

*that will remove the fat (lipid) souable shit in your girl

*if you want yayo as a salt (soft) let the acetone/water evaporate

*wash with water

*let dry

I'm sorry but I don't understand what this means. I always do an acetone wash on my stuff. I always do the wash, and just let the acetone evaporate from the product. I would never wash it with water.

I'm sorry. I just wouldn't want people to go through the process of the acetone wash, and then lose it because they used water.

let the water evaporate, hardware store acetone is not just water and acetone.

The cocaine will not evaporate, washing with a little water twice or so will yield a more pure (safer) product. If you are impatient use a hair drier or heat lamp.

I believe what you say but would never use such a product in such a way as discussed in this thread.

You reminded me of a product that was a nail polish remover. just GBL and Bitterex, fuckers discontuned it:( I got some stange comment/looks when buying it:D
 
when i was washing coke i used the stuff from home depot. but i'm from canada, and from what i understand, it's usually diluted in the states. i guess in canada its common for it to come anhydrous (without water). just look for "anhydrous acetone". that's the stuff you want.
 
do not "wash"with water lol and you dont get crack when you wash with acetone Read le Junk`s thread carefully before you lose your coke down the drain
 
yes be careful when buying acetone because it is used to clean or "wash" the impurites out of methamphetamine, but not used in the actual production of methamphetamine synthesis wise only in the cleaning of cut or "dirty" meth with impurites left from the preocess if the "cook" is sloppy or whatever...lol at "don't pull a Pryor.....lol...he was preparing freebase when you caught himself on fire using ether and ammonia,but the ether is what caught on fire,and its even more flammable than acetone,but he shoulda stopped dropped and rolled or grabbed a non polyester type blanket and rolled up in it and rolled around as ether burns fairly "cold" compared to say gasoline...lol....pryor was too high on base to stop and roll he just ran like a base head on fire would..lol

I'm assuming you mean SATP? STP would be job in itself to create in a large environment.
 
This is pretty ironic b/c just today I was at a hardware store and went to the back where the paint supplies are looking to buy paint, walking down the isle, I saw a large metal container of "Acetone" and right below it said "100% pure acetone" it even said so in various other languages along with the various warnings about flammable vapors etc...
Having read about the cocaine acetone wash here on BL I thought pure (zero water, dyes, etc) acetone had to be made and was not sold in stores, which is why when it said 100 percent acetone I went in for a closer look. The ingredients just said 100 percent acetone. It was a local mom 'n pop type store and I found the acetone next to anyhdrous gasoline, xylene, muric acid, and other solvents all in metal containers. So as far as I could tell, it was indeed 100% pure acetone.
But, below the pure acetone line was another line of text which said "100% miscible (sic?) in water" I think that means the acetone will completely combine with water if the two are mixed together. Thus, further leading me to believe it was pure acetone, otherwise why would the manufacturer state that it can mix with H2O? I even asked a few employees about it and all said, "yep, that's just acetone, no water".
So, what do u all think? Have the OP and I found pure acetone or are we missing something here?

Also, is there a simple and quick way to determine if it truly is pure acetone? Like add 1 part "x" to 1 part acetone and if "z" happens then its pure...or something akin, thanks in advance

The label is misleading. The acetone in the container is 100% acetone, but that's just the acetone. Trust me, there is also water in that particular acetone. Even lab grade acetone contains a miniscule amount of water and/or alcohol.

If you're looking for anhydrous acetone, one should simply try sciencelab dot com. Scroll to the acetone section and order the "Acetone NF". That is what you're looking for.

Hey "Le Junk",

If I recall correctly, you stated that even the laboratory grade Acetone contains some water, and therefore, even that type of Acetone needs to have the water "removed" so to speak via the epsom salt & oven technique you've detailed in other threads. Assuming this is true, then is there a significant advantage if one starts with the Lab grade Acetone instead of the hardware store Acetone. (i.e. Since the lab grade acetone has a lower amount of water to begin with, removing that small amount of H20 is easier to do, and one is more likely to successfully remove ALL the water, whereas if one began with the hardware store Acetone, there would be a greater chance that some water will remain in the acetone used in the wash tek?)

I ask b/c if the epsom salt method will remove all the water from both types of acetone equally well, so long as proper technique is used, then it would seem logical that the convenience and quickness that one can acquire the hardware store Acetone would negate any reason for ordering the lab grade stuff. (Of course ordering the anhydrous acetone would be the best option but I'm just asking about lab grade v the hardware store Acetone)
