US - Cocaine is losing its dubious status as drug of choice

I am just going to point out the obvious. No one is using coke anymore b/c heroin has become the new drug of choice among most drug users, especially after the whole O.C. epidemic that got so many people addicted to opiates that would of never got into them if it weren't for prescription opiates. So now everyone is into opiates, pharms, benzos, heroin, and you all know im right.. and for the stimulant lovers out there they seem to like meth again for some reason... coke was the only stim worth doing imo b/c it didn't last long, but then again I generally hate stimulants.

I used to be perfectly happy alternating between, booze, weed, mdma, blow and occasionally meth (as well as a smoking habit and count coffee in there too for substance). That was until I tried shooting hydromorphone. It took over the world... I mean my world... Completely. Booyaa. LOL, now I'm on 250mg of methadone daily. Booyaa.

You guys must have never done good coke.

lol

AMEN!!!!!

I think the cocaine decline is parallel with our shitty economy. I used to do blow all the time, but kind of lost interest because business was bad at work and couldn't afford it. Oh, and I kinda missed doing meth, so I started that friendly little habit instead, ha ha. I'd do it if somebody put it in front of me, and I still know exactly where to get some shit that will make your face numb (not from crappy cut) but I'm no longer seeking it out. Coke goes good with drinking, and I don't do much of that anymore either. Don't wanna fuck up my euphoria :)

This is exactly the problem, hence why less and less people are using 'coke'. Because all the 'coke' on the street is cut to the point where it can't really even be classified as coke anymore. Whatever it is people are snorting these days is absolute garbage, so the general consensus is that coke sucks and there are better drugs out there. In a way, they're right, because the 'coke' that is readily available is crap, and the good stuff is extremely hard to get if you don't have connections of some kind.

I'm sure if the street was flooded with high-quality coke then more people would be doing it. That's probably why there was such a coke epidemic in the 70s and 80s, most likely because it was coming in at far high purity, then demand went up, dealers got greedy, product started getting cut more and more and more.......etc...you know the rest...

Why would you do coke when you can do MDMA/Other amp derivatives/Other psychedelics?

Most of my friends say, "why would you do MDMA when you can do coke and not have a hangover."

I personally don't agree with that, they're two completely different drugs but since both Coke and MDMA are fucking huge in my town, they get compared to one another a lot.

I don't understand why people want to get addicted to things

What a simplistic & judgmental statement. I'm pretty sure no one wants to get addicted to anything. Nothing is that simple. Psychologically, humans have always & will always desire to temporarily alter their reality/perception/mind with substances that make us feel good and/or better. It's not a bad thing to want to feel good/better; in fact, it's a normal human reaction but the lawmakers/drug czars/religionists disagree so they perpetuate the old paranoid myths, misinformation, & lies.

Because of course, they know what's best for us. /s

Fewer people using coke means the war on drugs is working. More people using meth means the war on drugs is necessary. Got it?

more ppl on meth means the war on drugs is just progressing exactly as it was originally intended too... Face reality, the drug war was won the moment it started, We lost the moment some terrible person dreamed up the idea to lock up people for profit. its mostly minorities, casual users, addicts, low level street dealers, and anyone who ACTUALLY believes in REAL FREEDOM that lost. Back 2 meth, now those in power (big pharm, politicians, DEA, ATF, etc, etc...) could cut south american cartels out slowly because meth can be made ANYWHERE, coca leaves cant grow just anywhere. and/or they will just get closer in bed with mexican cartels 2 make the jib available in the states.

It's not just coke, but everything else has become garbage lately.
You can't even buy Ephedrine legally anymore, and as a result of that the market has been flooded with cheap imitation Ephedrine listed as Yohimbe bark.
Plus the MDMA market on the east coast has turned to complete shit.

Weed is always easily available because a lot of people are growing it indoors. To me it's no different than drinking alcohol, which has become less than exhilarating.

With levamisole, other cuts and inferior purification of the "coke", it's no wonder people ain't do it anymore. But pure coke is one of the best drugs, meth isn't even as good. The cartels need to get the proper oxidizers/solvents and start making some real coke.

I completely agree.

Meth is technically much stronger than cocaine in my opinion, however they are two completely different stimulants.

I'm not experienced with Cocaine, only tried it a few times but I have a bunch of friends who are into it. It's all shit. It's cut to shit, way over priced and it quite frankly sucks.

My thoughts exactly. It took me awhile to understand the hype, and why it became such a popular drug at one point. Seems pretty obvious to me now =D, but then again access to quality is a luxury that I count myself lucky to have.

Figures this would happen after finding a decent connect. I've always been behind the times. :P
