Upper vs. Downer People

I prefer downer people

i love em both so fucking much ill go on 3 month binges on each but i was shooting heroin for 9 months this past year now i just do hella psychedelics like i used to so i can get back in tune with my funky self :)
 
Yeah I'm an upper. I want to get fucked up and fuck around, and have something make me feel reaaallly good if i'm gonna even do it in the first place. But I mean yeah, I have done downers to chill me out and ease me when I was in tough situations so I guess it all depends.
 
Definitely a downer gal here—although I must admit—I still fancy me some high quality cocaine, haha!

I have always been one that completely adores being indolent, so I believe the fact that I take a liking to opiates has quite a bit to do with that.

I was also cursed with a truly horrendous nervous system, as well as a batch of anxiety disorders. With that said, opiates and benzodiazepines leave me feeling extremely relieved and pleasant. I've noticed that legitimate quality cocaine has a calming effect on me, as well (in moderate doses). Mixing up opiate stimulant cocktails can also be extremely pleasant for me, but is something that is simply too good to fuck around with often.
 
I simply dont like how I act on uppers and feeling like I'm racing all the time. I cant even enjoy some good green on uppers, they just make me feel real weird. I hate coming down, and I hate not being able to crash or just chill if need be.

On downers I can still be active, and I can still be there intellectually (perhaps not as much as on stims). At the same time I can chill, sleep, be awake, be social and I'm not sweating, jittery, talking a mile a minute and all that shit.

Now that I think about it, I hate stimulants.
 
The downer I use most frequently is easily alcohol. I also really like opiates, but rarely use them anymore just because I got spoiled a few years back when I discovered my parents' cache of percs, OC 40's, and hydros. Now it's just not worth the effort to actively seek them out.

Favorite and only upper that I really enjoy is cocaine, hands down. Amphetamines last wayyy too fuckin long for me to enjoy them. The euphoria and overall enjoyment I get from snorting a fat teener of grade A blow is quite special to me haha. I never know what to do with myself on coke, but I don't really care. I tend to just talk peoples ears off and sit in really uncomfortable, rigid positions while feeling fucking awesome...until the bag runs out. However, I don't really fuck with coke much anymore cause it was leading me down a path to nowhere.

good point, i always wondered how tiring a stimulant habit might get, it seems like itd get tiring, and when you want to be relaxed and happy, that just wont happen. but at the same time, coffee doesnt tire me out too much
 
Used to be addicted to RX Amphetamines, then I got hooked on opiates roughly a year after kicking, give or take.
Now, I prefer Opiates+Caine. Toss some benzos in of course if they're around. I'll NEVER do an upper without a downer, and I'll never do coke without being under the influence of opiates first.
 
I like almost every drug ive done. Smoked alota weed. Sniffed alota coke. Smoked alota crystal. Popped alota adderall. Even a few dustoff binges. Lotsa rock smoked. Many xanax popped. Many percocets vics ocs ive swallowed. Had a dope problem. Smoked much black off foil and injected much black with diabetics syringes.

So...upper v downer peoples..simply a matter of opinion.

For me black is waaaaay more addictive than all other drugs. Since the high is perfect and theres no comedown, just the nod.. shit like cocaine and methamphetamines i certainly enjoy, but they can make you feel like shit when ya overdo it. For me the best way to do shit like uppers is once in awhile.

So i certainly enjoyed using black (tar heroin) more than other drugs because its high is the best. But i liked black so much it was my only priority in life. So it fucked my life up. Right now im a lil ov3r 7 weeks clean, and i resent the drug (black) cause of what it made me do and who it made me.

Right now i gota say.. weed/spice is my fav. Cause it makes me happy. A nice easy feeling. No sticks no seeds no stress...
 
Downers are less harsh on my psyche. Uppers really mess me up mentally, comedown and afterwards. Plus the anxiety, oh the anxiety. Except E.
 
Downer people tend to get fucked up all over the place and have horrible self esteem problems.... I'm not a fan of ppl who drink and pop a bunch of benzo's and blackout and do something extrememly dumb.....

However Upper people can be interesting, artistic, a little mysterious and/or fucking creeping haha.... They have werid sex haha... ummmm and when it gets really extreme its def worse than the downer people

But overall I prefer the Upper People.
 
As far as I can see, there's two types on anxiety, not enough GABA action or an underreaction in the inhibitory prefrontal cortex. Whether you need less stimulation or more to feel ok is what I see as the defining factor between upper and downer people. For someone like me, stimulants are less stimulating than calming, probably because it wakes that regulating part of my brain up a bit so that all those stress signals are dampened.
 
i like stimulants, but i love downers. i'd rather have opiate over stims any day, but i also really like klonopin + d-amp. and i love X but opiatyes just hit the sweet spot for me
 
I don't know if I'd divide the world between upper and downer people, I mean, if we want to go with a dichotomy, I'd say it's people who use drugs to be more engaged with the world vs people who use drugs to be less engaged with the world. For the most part that will translate into uppers vs downers, but there are some people who find opiates very pro-motivational, and pro-social, and I'd hesitate to call them downer people. Plus, where would you put drug users who use psychedelics, cannabis, or dissociatives? They don't fit into the up vs down system clearly.

I would fit squarely into the category of people who use drugs to become less engaged with the world, and prefer downers, but I like smokin' ice too, ya'know? (Also, I don't like the term "escapism" since it is laden with negative connotations, I just think different people like to be more or less engaged with the world, and neither is the "better" choice, it's just personal preference)
 
Personally, I prefer psychedelics, cannabinoids, and empathogens to straight uppers or downers. I guess ecstasy is technically an upper, but there's so much more to it than a straight stim. While uppers and downers can be very euphoric, I just don't find them as exciting as something that makes you think a little bit.

As far as the people go, I tend to like upper people better, usually because they tend to get shit done rather than just sit around. There are obviously exceptions, but this is just my personal observation. Honestly though, I find people who use psychedelics to be more interesting people in general. They also don't go around fiending for drugs as much.
 
Holyshit Downers were made for me (or me for downers idk fuck it). I take uppers everyday to get me through school and I honestly don't enjoy it at all. In fact some days I just don't want to take them at all. I hate that feeling you get with the second dose were you feel like you're being forced to be energized.

Although I think I'm a DXM guy =D=D
 
I prefer opiates to other downers, but benzos are great for socializing. I'm not super into alcohol usually, but it has its advantages (legality).

I like doing uppers alone. That way I can be super productive. When I do them with friends, we just talk for hours and hours about intense abstract subjects, but it never really goes anywhere.

I'm ... a drug person, haha. I love me some downers: I'm addicted to opiates, take benzos on a daily basis (a nice cocktail of). These are prescribed (which means nothing, really...). I DO also love love love uppers. This is 'new' for me as of just a few years ago. I was introduced to opiates in 2006 and can't hop off. I have been prescribed benzos on and off (mostly 'on', 97% time since then) for about 7 years. STIMS since maybe 2008 - cocaine (love it!), adderall (love it, more!) methamphetamine (prescription) is surprisingly NOT as enjoyable as adderall (for me), and I'd take Ritalin/Vyvanse/any prescription stim if given for free.

*I prefer downer people, in that 'generalization' of people sort of way ;). Upper people can be just too damn peppy.
 
Uppers or Downers??

Ive always LOVED downers. Tried very few stims, just adderall, and idk why but downers are my shit.
I enjoy my cannabis daily, and opiates or other pharms on rare occasions.
I love opiates, idc what it is. You could pull out a bag of meth on me and say i could have all of it if i tried it. I probably wouldnt. But if the same appleid with some Heron or somethin, man you better believe id do that shit.
Come on, Opana just has such a great ring to it:D
