unattractive if girl has had more sex partners than you?

rabid feminizm... lol... Go back to your cave :p I'm not going to get into the nature vs nurture debate because it's been had here in slr before and I'm sick of it, especially when people use it as an excuse to act in a certain way. I'm just going to quote fizzygirl here

Behaviors with an evolutionary origin are based on what worked best for our ancestors, and not necessarily what works best for us today. This also does not mean it's a forced behavior that cannot be overcome or changed. You're not helpless against these thought patterns and it may well be that the people that adapt to different ways of thinking will be the ones whose genes are thus more likely to be passed on in the future.

archie, just want to add that as far as I see it, your viewpoint is that promiscuity is a bad thing for both genders, and while my view is that there is nothing wrong with having many sexual partners as long as you're being safe and not hurting anyone, I can respect your viewpoint because it's not hypocritical.

But can you seriously tell me there is nothing wrong in thinking that some people are more entitled to sleeping around because they have something dangling between their legs? It's not 'rabid feminizm' that makes me loathe that kind of thinking, it would be just as despicable if it were turned the other way round and men were called sluts for sleeping around while it was ok for women, or if say a certain race was 'allowed' to be more promiscuous than another.

Oh, and about the word slut- I don't have a problem with the word, my friends and I use it on each other, no problem. It's not the word, it's the way it's used. Try saying 'you fucking nigger' to a big beefy black guy (if you're white) and see how happy it makes him. Although, if someone called me a slut because they had a problem with the amount of sexual partners I've had, I'd probably just laugh at their narrow-mindedness.

ive had more partners than my wife but she would have had alot more sex than me with the few people she was with, so i call it even i guess...

...but if i am entirely honest it could bother me for a while if things werent "even" so to speak.

whatever the problem, love multiplied by time equals irrelevence !

8) I'm not entirely sure what to think about this thread... Besides the obvious.

After reading through this thread, the first thought that springs to mind is natural evolution of society.

I think some of you guys missed the boat.

These days, there's this little movement going on for the equality of women... it was rocky at the start, but it's gaining momentum. I think guys who think that way are a product of past social mores, which, while they may have existed in history, don't make them socially accpetable now, or right, for that matter.

I'm so sick of that double standard! live in the now, friends.

I mean, i would understand if maybe this were a thread about sleeping with anyone, male or female, who's slept with more people then you.... it's just the double standard that pisses me off. Especially the dude who really seems convinced that it's 'natural'... was it ever natural for a dude to beat their wife just cause it was a social norm?? that way of thinking has gone the way of the dinosaurs, and this line of thinking will follow it soon.

The thread title is a loaded question.

A bit like "Does my bum look big in this?" :)

Better left unasked I rekon...

There's something that people are over-looking here. It's not the "how many" that's is important but "why".
Some girls sleep around a lot, not because they love sex but because they are fucked in the head. Promiscuity is often a sign of deep-rooted insecurity in a girl so, yeah, it can be a red flag with me.
But it depends on the person. Personally, I would rather not know my gf's sexual past.

I don't care. I find it comforting to know that somebody else has found it necessary/had the urge to do as many people as possible.
