^^Even if I got the seeds from the same bulk bin the day before? I guess they could have refilled it by the time i had gotten there but the it was completely full the first time I used these seeds then yesterday (when i posted this) those same seeds had quite a bit less potency. I consumed twice the amount I usually do and I have a mild euphoric buzz. I would doubt that my tolerance to morphine(or opiates in general) because I have only done this tea 7 or 8 times and the first two were bunk but then i went to a bulk food store and have had those seeds give a very strong opiate high since then. However my tolerance is not very low either I do get mild/semi-moderate withdrawals. And thanks for the food info I wasnt sure if that would decrease potency but i didnt think so. I expected the food to push back the onset but my guess is that I just got less-potent seeds. Thanks alot and feel free to continue to comment, etc.
 
I know the doses are very random but i have been getting consistantly pretty decent seeds and i was wondering how much food in your stomach would delay the onset of the tea effects? I had a full stomach and drank a normal dose and its been just about three hours and im finally starting to feel it but not strong. Is there any food that might lessen the potency of the tea?

Definitely eating foods will vary the timing and potency of the effects. I find it the same if I've eaten. It's best to take tea on an empty stomach if you're trying a new batch so you can judge the potency properly..

Why do you use seeds and not the poppy pods? I find it easier to gage the potency and easier to prepare using the dried ground up pods.. I guess you might have problems getting hold of the pods though?
 
The potency can vary that much even if you got them from the same bin, it's all to do with if the specific seeds you got had a lot of Morphine on them or not. Tolerance is also a real possibility, i found that i got a tolerance to pod/seed tea within the first 5-6 times i used it. When i first started i got a nice high from 1Lb. of seeds, then no high, so i tripled the dose out of 'curiosity' you know...just to see...'hypothetically' what that high would feel like. So then i spent like 2 years making tea with 3.5Lbs of seeds and yup, some days i had a barely perceptible high, and some days i'd be nodding out feeling my heart slow down so much that i wondered if maybe i was dying (but lacked the ability to get up/do anything about it). Collecting unemployment, drinking 1-2 gallons of poppy tea a day watching movies and farting around.

To share my experience, this shit took me out. I had used Percocet recreationally for 10 years on and off for fun/to treat hangovers, whatever. I got into Pods maybe 3 years ago, went on a run for a year, kicked the habit a few times, not shitting for a week, then shitting myself, RLS, night terrors, apathy like i had been lobotomized, 0 joy from life etc. Then put the pods down and only went for seeds. I only used every 2 days and i still couldn't manage my life whatsoever. I'm clean now and starting to love life again.

I share this because for me, my frame of reference was milder opiates like codeine/hydrocodone/7.5mg of oxycodone etc. Poppy tea is essentially a slow acting form of Heroin. If you've had a heroin/oxycontin habit in the past, this is what you're getting your body into. If you have not had such a habit, and the thought of having a Heroin habit scares the fuck out of you, just acknowledge to yourself what you are ingesting. A high dose of Morphine...the only difference between Morphine and Heroin, is that Heroin is much faster acting, outside the human body the chemical name is different (diacetylmorphine), inside the body it just turns into Morphine but hits you quicker.

having a small but high-fat meal, a little bit before taking opiates, increases their absorption into the gut.
 
I got some "opium" that was an extract of poppy tea. I am personally of the opinion that it was not opium, as ~ 0.5 g smoked did almost nothing except make me feel weird, and my pupils never constricted. If it is just an extract too crude to be smoked (would not hit off foil at all), what would be safe to try and eat? I was thinking of starting with .1 g and working up in .1 g intervals?
 
Today, I started with three T3's around 10am.
+2 1/2 more after eggs & bacon for lunch, roughly 1:30pm.

(total :150-165mg codeine) without regarding acetaminophen, caffeine etc.. in T3s.

Now, I have read this entire thread.... and I managed to find organic (.100kg each) seeds, apparently unwashed because the bag contained what seems to be leftover pod material.
Used 3/4 of a .90kg bag. so about 60g. Hot water (500ml - 1/2L), pressed lime (lemon works) and seeds into French press. Stir repetitively over 15-20mins. Did 2 extractions with same batch.

My pupils are NEEDLE HOLES and I'm feeling like a boss, nice Jimmy legs and even a potential nod is around. Some herb enhanced the whole thing of course.

Now, I have experience with opiates (ALL of the pharms /except raw O and H ), I'm just not a daily user. So tolerance is low you could say.

Bump up the amount of seeds accordingly, 500g seems to me like it would knock me on my ass.

Conclusion: Get unwashed seeds with leftover plant material. Red Mill seeds worked as well. But PST works! :)


oh and for the record.... I've never played with gear but Plugging is the next best way to eat your cookies friends. The very first time 6mg of liquid Lady D's rocked my world. 8o =D

I have been drinking poppy pod tea made with between 15-20 grams for a little while. Should 5 grams be enough to stave off withdrawals. I am going to be going to concerts for a couple nights and want to use psychedelics, not nod out, but I don't want to deal with withdrawal issues.

semi- experienced opiate user. always been recreational. enjoyed codeine (cwe) DHC, tramadol and (especially) oxycodone on semi-regular basis for around a year now. never had any addiction/withdrawal problems as I've always played it safe and left days/weeks between doses, and made an effort to never make a routine of anything.

anyway, oxy has been my favourite opiate BY FAR. I love the stuff. However its got to the point where tolerance has built up so much (despite sporadic use) that its become too expensive to keep on enjoying it. I used to be in heaven with 20-30mg. Now I'm left craving more after going through nearly 100mg in a night. Tramadol had a similar tolerance climb, and I don't like the seizure risk. And DHC/Codeine aren't that good or worth the the cwe hassle.

So I've decided to give poppy pod tea a go. And I have a few questions.

I've bought some dried PAPAVER SOMNIFERUM GIGANTEUM pods. I've got half a kilo of them.

Questions:

1) Are these the right sorts of pods for making poppy tea?

2) How many "hits" (as in enjoyful nights) will I get from .5kg of pods

3) How will the high compare to oxy or codeine?

4) Will I be able to keep the preparation of the tea in my household fairly discreet? (ie is it something I can sort out in a half-hour free-house gap I get when everyone nips out? Is there going to be a lingering smell/mess? How 'out of it' will I be?

after reading several pages, and being a poppy pod user myself, i wonder why all you guys are talking about ordering seeds, and not just ordering the pods themselves. i get a TON of seeds anyhow when i do order my pods. the only bad thing ive noticed is some pod vendors have better batches than others. sometimes i get REALLY good ones that get me itching and scratching and nodding like a mofo for at least 7 or 8 hours. and ordered pods from other places and had much more weight for my money, but the buzz was like codeine, at best. any thoughts on this from experienced ppt users?

1. if i dose conservatively, can I function in social/work situations without appearing completely 'out of it'?
2. how can i store the poppy without having to leave them in the large pod size format? Is grinding the whole lot down at once and storing in a box ok? No loss of potency? Or what if I made a few batches of tea? Could I store the tea in bottles? And if so, for how long? Thanks
 
^ 1. If you dose conservatively i highly doubt anyone will notice, no one has ever called me out on being high.

2. i'd store in a cool, dry, dark place and i'd put them in an airtight container or something. Not sure about grinding, seems it would leave them more susceptible to moisture. Not sure about loss of potency either. Tea goes bad quite quickly though, i don't like to drink it if it's been more than 12 hours and that may be a bit too long.

3) it's a very long and heavy, sedating high. Oxycodone and codeine would be shorter lasting and more stimulating.

4) it will smell if you throw any of it in the garbage, it smells awful after a couple of days.
 
Nothing groundbreaking in the advice I'm gonna give, but a great (albeit somewhat time consuming; but it evens out in the end) way of getting this stuff down the gullet is to brew up a big batch, reduce slowly over a stove top upon which a pan half filled with boiling water has been filled; upon the pan rest a pyrex bowl containing your poppy solution* and simmer away, using your trusty culinary thermometer to keep temps at least below 70 degrees Celsius.

The idea here isn't to reduce to the point of making cooked flaked opium. Rather, you want enough to fill about 5 of your average sized polystyrene greasy-spoon cups. Fill the cups with the very dark, somewhat viscous liquid, and store in the freezer.

When you want to dose, whack up the thermostat and put your cup of concentrated (remember that this, if successful, produces a strong solution of pod tea) onto a nearby radiator. As it melts, pour the run off into fruit juice, adding a few chips of the still icy pod solution.

When i did this with fresh orange juice i swear to god it was as pleasant to drink as a half melted orange iced-lolly.


*If you've ever melted chocolate on a stove top, you'll know what I'm getting at here. Same principle; heat but don't burn.
 
Why WHy WHY do people still make tea from pods? Grind to a powder, mix with juice, drink. No loss of goodies, way less mess, much easier to take on the go. Better yet, just don't use the stuff. I'm just now ending a habit. It's effing hell.
