Ukip MP

What I will say is that certain elements within the media seem to be sowing seeds of discontent, in full awareness that this will lead to bad feelings and consequent social unrest.

Absolutley; and more, the ruling class (and their media) require a constant supply of social division to counteract the obvious inequality of their position (ie "look over there - immigrants/benefits scroungers/deviants/muslims - don't look up here...")

Or, because the "shit joke" thread is currently top of the page at time of writing (even if it won't be at time of reading):

Q. How do you share a dozen buns between a Tory MP, a Daily Mail reader and an unemployed worker?

A. The Tory MP takes eleven buns, nudges the Daily Mail reader and whispers to him, You want to watch him -- (pointing to the unemployed person), -- he's after your bun!

Only it isn't funny, because jokes are supposed to be absurd, and the above is what really happens .....

No, but it's nice when the maths adds up.That is because it depends on the underlying mathematics. If the laws of mathematics say that co-operative strategies are successful, then that can no more be untrue than can the angles of a triangle ever add up to anything but 180 degrees.

I know. But am not so great at maths but better at concepts so went with Darwin cos he kinda sweeps all in his wake with this kinda stuff. Game Theory is fun. It's possibly fundamental. Darwin lies beneath so continues to reign imperious <3

When I say 'beneath' I mean in the common sense. We can't all do the sums however obvious they are. Darwin ditches the sums and reaches universal truth in a way that all can understand. It's the Golden Rule codified in biological FACT!

For better or worse, I'm a qualified engineer. Not the same as a pure mathematician (the ones who insist on referring to the imaginary square root of -1 as i rather than using its proper name of j) but nonetheless having more than a passing acquaintance with the subject.

It should be a tuatology: Whatever succeeds, proceeds. The diversity of life is a wonderful demonstration of the underlying principles. Like using graphical methods to solve a calculus problem -- except it's alive .....

It's only a tautology if you understand both. Well it's not ultimately but in practical terms it is (or isn't). I don't know the maths but I get the obvious. Some things are just plain simple. Like me. This is why Game Theory is a game to me whilst Darwin rocks my world.
