UK Ketamine Shortage

Right lads.....been reading over the last few pages.

Can someone tell me if what is heavier.

1 gram of cooked ketamine or 1 gram of uncooked ketamine. Id hate to be buying underweight ket.

Depends how you cook it, if its put in a slow cooker for a day or two you could easily turn that into 3g..

Uncooked, depends if you've defrosted it thoroughly first =D

A gram is a gram. End of...!

A gram of k is a gram of k no matter what you do to it, there's are many other aspects/nuances of the cooking process than that though.

True but it will be more potent than flashing it in a pan. Oven dish at about 75 and don't forget is best.

But the slower you do it the bigger the crystals, defeating the main point of 'cooking' in the first place: getting a nice fine powder. I've never noticed a decrease in potency from adding 25ml of boiling water to a gram of K and nuking it in the microwave on medium for 30 seconds or a minute, so long ago now I can't remember the exact optimal times.

I always cook ketamine before i sniff it, I dont actually know why its just something i've seen my friends do then I do it (force of habbit if you will)

what does cooking ketamine achieve ? do you need to cook ketamine ?

(for those of you who dont know - cooking ket my way is 2 plates, add boiling water, put in microwave for 5mins then scrape the plate until the powder is back)

Pointless, I think this is done because people misunderstand the term cooking. It does not so much refer directly to boiling but to crystallization of the ketamine. The fact that starting from liquid ketamine, heating it is the usual way to achieve this seems to create some confusion:
If you already have powder or crystal, there is nothing to be gained. Though if done correctly redissolving and subsequently recrystallizing one may produce a product of higher purity and/or better appearance, both of which have some value - depending on what you are planning to do with the K. But unless you know your chemistry, there is little use in trying that by how you do it using simply a microwave. It will not get more pure that way.

So for our typical intents and purposes there is nothing to be gained.

You can save yourself some time and energy from now on.

Just find a better way to crush your crystals and take a little more time with the crushing if you want it to be easier on the nose.

Superquick microwave recrystallization will probably make small particles compared to slow and careful crystallization, but like fluke just suggested you can also just crush your crystals. Roll over them with something inflexible, repeat. Or use a card to scrape them over and press them onto a mirror, repeat.

If you want to argue this, find an actual argument and not that your experiences told you that it helped. Maybe it did, but if you just crush it you have total control and it can go quicker and save you the spatter, plus you don't need a microwave handy.

Don't be superstitious, think for yourself.

Can we stop this pointless debate about a pointless procedure now? 8)

You know what? Experience tells me that regardless of me fucking about copying those posts and highlighting the relevant bits and pieces, it's likely that you're absolutely right. :D

That is all correct, I place no doubt in that, but it's a lot easier to put it in a pan, wait a couple of minutes and have it done for you. You can flash a gram whilst the rest slow cooks.

Actually, I'd like to see whatever method is getting their crystal as fine as a flash in a pan, but unfortunately that isn't an experiment I've prepared earlier.

I rarely cook it nowadays. Crushing on a CD case with the back of a spoon gets it fine enough and you don't lose any to the fibres of the note (not that you lose much anyway).

Still, it's fun to cook it over a hob every now and then for shits and giggles. Doesn't make the blindest bit of difference to the product either, so why people are getting all bent out of shape over people who choose to do it on the regular is beyond me.
