Make sure you try and see IDEAL as it is my current fave comedy.

Also worth a look,

Jam
Nathan Barley
The Day Today
Dennis Pennis/Strutter/Paul Kaye
Shameless although not strictly a comedy, very very funny.

I caught most of Absolutely Fabulous back when it was broadcast on Comedy Central. I should probably give it another go, though, since I didn't pay much attention to it then.

I have The Day Today, and I'll probably start watching that tonight.

I actually downloaded season 1 of Strutter, and I thought it was one of the dumbest things I had ever seen. Not because of the language or the character, but because it was a stupid fucking MTV clip show with some dude doing his best Sean Penn impression. I dunno. I think I was kind of turned off to anything by Paul Kaye after "It's All Gone Pete Tong".

hmm. you should try the 'drugs' episode.

brass eye is one of my favourite satire shows ever but i recognise that it is full of british cultural milestones on which it relies heavily.

2 other good shows are Rab C Nesbitt and Father Ted, they aren't from the UK but they are Irish and one is scottish so it is similar humor.
newsflash: scotland is still part of the UK. ;)

ego_loss - please persevere with Father Ted, it's a work of pure genius. get to know the characters and you should get more into it. i've seen them all god knows how many times and still piss myself laughing throughout. :D

PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW
PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW
PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW PEEP SHOW

I plan on sticking with Father Ted, as I've become a pretty big fan of anything Graham Linehan puts his name to.

you might enjoy brass eye more if you watch it after the day today.

The OP should also watch The Day Today before "I'm Alan Partidge" too. It being a spin-off and all.

the fast show, or The new armstrong and miller show is pretty good too.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Phoenix Nights

Still game is the best thing on tv..

^ indeed. absolutely fabulous appeared on our screens about 15 years ago and, while it's showing its age a little, it gave us some classic characters and situations.

Ab Fab was great. Well, the first 3 series were and then they just milked it. But it was the only show that made me laugh so hard that no sound would come out. I literally used to gasp for breath watching that!.

"Jam" is very good, dark sketch show written by chris morris. some of it is just twisted.

also check out "Green Wing".

...and Nighty Night

And you should read the thread before you contribute. I've already watched I'm Alan Partridge, as well as Knowing Me, Knowing You.
