Turn that FROWN upside down jnr, or not. Why the upside down smile?

<3Lil<3

I've had those horrible butterflies in my stomach for the last few days as well... i'm just hoping that things somehow turn around, somewhow.

i was just reading facebook to see an update from my mates sister.

my mate was glassed last night in the city... i will speak to him in a few hours, but thats fucked...

goodbye sydney... im happy im out of here!

ps, yes i know glassings happen everywhere, but Sydney City/Cross/Oxford street have just turned to shit

Fucking hell.

Its 6:30am
I worked my arse off ALL night at the pub. Busiest night in months.
Then threatened and accosted by a fucking crackhead who accused me of "Rigging the pokies" and would "See me outside, after work"

Prick then proceeded to tap on all the doors and try getting in while I locked up. Spent the next three hours, counting tills with a big 'ol fashioned police baton next to me.

Now I am beyond tired, its daylight and I have a Valentines dinner tonight, so I HAVE to sleep soon.

And to top it all off, as I am writing this, I get a HUGE leg cramp and fall of my chair in agony.

FUCK YOU UNIVERSE!

I still have flu symptoms! More than a week later!

I don't mind that much, I can handle it but I'm sick of resting. I went for a ride last night a big walk today and I felt awesome but then felt shit coming down from it. I'm so keen to get stuck back into exercise.

Why is it when you think life is going to turn out good, something happens to remind you that you should never get complacent and that life can come around and just fuck you over in a heartbeat!!!!

^^^ Ditto baysie.... Just had a friend lose his life ski racing on the weekend. Will be a weekend of recalling memories and reassessing life in general :(

Life sux....why is it so that a great dad can be taken away from his children....so young and innocent. Is it because it was meant to happen.....or was it just a huge freak of nature...was it because it was his time or did someone take him before!!!! I guess if anyone can answer that question then they will know how everything pans out in this freakish universe of ours. All we can do is make the best of what we have....i guess. Not suicidal but just wondering WHY!!!! Is that too much to ask people?

Getting fucking SMASHED at work, i really have nothing more to say but anyone in construction would know that basically, it's organised (or in my case) disorganised chaos.

Unrealistic timelines, unreliable sub-contractors, the list goes on.

Fuck....

Oh Luude.... blame it on the subbies.....

I may be a bit of topic but its the builders that go for the cheapest price my friend....please PM me if you differ....not looking for a fight but if you pay for monkeys you get monkeys Mr Project Manager. (Harsh but true). Not flaming but just grabbing on all i can gather at this time of night...just hitting it pretty hard after losing a friend on the weekend. But i still love this place xxx

You dont really have any basis to make comments like that when you have absolutely no idea what has occurred on my job. It has nothing to do with the price, its a CM job so prices are negotiated via the client.

Not starting shit either, but having a sparky forget to isolate a 415V 3-phase cable, leading to an electrocution (non-fatal), then having a site shut down for 3 days on a 5 week program, i think i have every fucking right to blame the subbie involved.

Also, having subbies rocking up with no tools tested and tagged, no PPE, no red card. Who should i blame mate? Any suggestions?

Phew...i take it all back Luude.....Nobody likes being hauled thru the coroners court....I take my hat off to you buddy. Sounds like you have a crisis on your hands. Im on a , how you say "good thing" as i have just secured a $550K project in Melb and im pretty chooffed. ahhhhh love the construction industry...never ceases to amaze..... =D

Blame your estimator or contracts manager for dealing with the lowest price...and the backyarders that come with the cheap price....

Ok...nuf of the construction industry.....lets just be all friends xxx

I don't understand your lowest price rhetoric. What does this have to do with it? I don't care if a subbie is $50,000 cheaper than the next, it is stated at TENDER stage that all subbies attending site must conform with my companies OH&S requirements.

Im sorry but i don't think you understand how the contract letting stage works.

Fucking brawl at work tonight....

...group of around 6-8 blokes come into the pub I work at. Few big juice heads, but with a couple of local boys who are a-OK in my books; so as are their mates. They stay in one section of the pub.

...group of about 10 blokes come in for a buck-show about 20 min later. Lots of laughter and general bogan stupidity, so I keep an eye on them. But most of them are just a bit pissed and very polite. All good.

The buck show goes to the pool room for the last 20 minutes of their time until the strip joint/brothel.

All good.....

Suddenly, the buck show boys are fucking with one of the waitresses, calling her a slut. I walk out and tell them time to fuck off; and they start to follow me out. While I am walking a few of them out and keeping my eye on the bar, the juiceheads take offence to the 'slut' comment, and rare up. One of the bar chicks is caught in the middle and calls for help. I make it to the pool room to find one of the buck-show guys with a snapped pool cue, trying to throat a juicehead.

Long story short, I had to deal with two doses of the police, incident reports and a rattled bartender-ess.

More of a rant than a frown, but, still..... Don't fight in my bar. Someone might call the police.
And, I don't like dealing with 5-0, no matter how jovial they are.

The pretty much perfect past year or so has turned to UGH. Had a fantastic time with starting a family, LOVING being a father :D :D :D We organised 2-3 weeks ago that we will start renovating my house (I have one near coast geelong way). We were then either going to move in to that or most likely, sell it and up/down grade as we saw fit depending on circumstances. We had a 1-2 year goal to do this as we were deciding to move 'now' and live in there for a time period with no rent etc. We had decided to stay here for the 1-2 years as Emma was asked to go back to work 1-2 half days a week.

She was loving being back at work for the first 2 weeks, 1/2 days were good for her. I was taking our 4.5 month old daughter down for a feed during her break. So, we were getting used to the idea, had started baby proofing the lounge/house in anticipation of Cassie crawling. So, we spent a few full days clearing the once packed out lounge of 'stuff' and cabling/wires to all my gadgets, probably got 10-15 consoles/computers/electronic things in our huge 9 piece entertainment unit.

So, we finished clearing up like 1-2 weeks ago and were onto finding 'baby proof' fences so we could fence off the sections we wanted which had a bookshelf and other assorted stuff. We get a phone call last fri from the (actually nice people) REA. The landlord wanted to assess the cracks that had appeared in a couple rooms. OLD OLD house, BEST location I've ever seen that wasn't "millionaires corner". Find out day after from the inspection, we received a "Notice to vacate". The owner's son is moving in, he just got back from overseas 1-2 weeks ago and wants the house. Don't blame him, the BEST location for Melbourne 'city living'.

Now there are builders coming to fix the cracks that have been there for about a year I guess? Nothing 'frightening' but according to the owner, he was going to demolish the house after we moved out in our own time frame so we lived with the cracks etc. All sorts of work is happening here to fix the stuff "we put up with" due to thinking we'd be able to stay for as long as we wanted and stuff. It's put us into tears of anger + frustration. Literally had made plans a couple weeks ago that are taking 1-2 years to come to fruitation and this happens. Also Emma loses the job for good now, since we have to (and also want to due to circumstances) move to Geelong. The place is 'backwardsville' compared to where we are but ALL of our family are down there and we had planned to move to Geelong in the 1-2 years thing due to said family stuff. The house we're currently in is $800/month between Emma and I as we have a housemate that has slept here 1 night in 3-4 months. He is always at his gf's place but pops over to get clothes and whatnot. Looking at rentals, the cheapest houses in our needs (2-3 bedrooms since we're planning for a second child) is anywhere from $400-$800/month dearer for a location that will seem like 30 years back in time...

To say we are pissed is an understatement. Both can't work [I can't at all due to injury, and Emma can't work 'much' due to breast feeding and officially getting carer allowance for helping me out with meals etc since I can't prepare + cook food since my dodgy arm doesn't move high enough to use tools etc. We've probably lost 1-2 years of part time work for Emma and the finances will be up shit creek now. Also to mentioned we have to pack up the house contents, we have til April 20 to pack/find a house + move. It's going to be iffy due to the huge amount of contents we have and the lack of being able to pack 'quickly', looking after our child and my injury makes it SUCKSVILLE. Families can't help, mine are 80 yrs of age (parents) and Emma's work and/or are ill themselves.

That's my vent. Hoping we can find somewhere that won't drain our spare $$$ as in meantime, rest of my savings is going to renovations of house and stuff. Of course disability pension + Emma's "family payment" probably will leave us with $10/wk to spend or something. First time in like 10+ years I am actually worried about finances. ,,|, to the landlord + son for their timing... Murphey's law is a bitch eh?

^ just a note, I seem to recall hearing/reading somewhere, that if renovations are taking place whilst you are in occupency, then you are entitled to pay lowered or no rent. A small consolation based on your circumstance, but every bit helps I guess!

Grrrr. Just make the trek out to come and see my boyfriend for the day, only to discover he has to go into work for an emergency meeting. On our lazy Sunday. So frustrating, none of this is his fault, but i'm pissed off all the same. Now i'm sitting in his house twiddling my thumbs (and drinking). Can't even take the opportunity to laze around on my own, because his housemate is home.

It's times like this I feel really bloody homeless, considering I *still* don't have my unit back after it was flooded four weeks ago. I hate work responsibilities right now, and I hate slow-ass real estate agents. Grrrr.
