As far as I'm concerned the tv show is a totally different thing than the books, seeing as not a single episode follows the books, ever, at all. If it did, most of the best characters from the show would be dead, and we'd be stuck with a whole bunch of shitty ass vampires from the books obsessed with christian girls touching their titties and being like OH I'M SUCH A GOOD GIRL RUB ON MY TITTIES.

yeah but they didn't have nearly as big of parts in the books. the first season was just like the first book. and not all of the best characters would be dead necessarily..just lafayette i think? i just don't like how they changed around everything regarding hotshot and the vampire hierarchy. and the way ball chose to depict the whole fairy stuff.

it'll be interesting to see how they tackle jason's..uhh change, since ball totally changed everything about hotshot. and i'm curious about what they're going to do with the different witches covens now

the books get really good though imo. i think i'm up to the like..8th by now? which ones have you read?

Marissa- I like the changes that have taken place, but I love Pam and Lafayette, so......... I appreciate that they were given bigger roles in the show. I'm waiting for the last book to be released. I've read all up to current- (I think 10??)
This coming season, if it follows close to the book, should be good.

Honestly- they could kill Bill off and just make Sookie get with Eric and I would watch forever ahahahah

I'm afraid my Eric obsession will intensify again once I start watching Season 3 again.
 
actually the second one could be bill, but it was listed as Godric, when Eric tries to keep him from walking out into the sun.

I found it quite amusing where on page 1 of the thread everybody's real sceptical and hatin' on the show, and I click to page 5 everybody's loving it. Is it the intense marketing campaigns that make people just NOT want to watch, or like any show?

True blood is the shit...can't wait to stream the new series
 
I Need to see if season 3 is on demand yet- If so, I may spend the entire day tomorrow rewatching it. My brother comes out in two weeks and my work is gonna be crazy this next week so I will have NO TIME to watch it- It better be on and ready for me to watch!!! :)
I didn't get to see some important episodes last season- like the finale or any of the Claudine episodes.......and I forget most of it :\

oh god, terrible. alan ball really is taking this and running with it, aka butchering it..

there's not supposed to be an alternate fairy world. they just pop around doing fairy shit, are really amazingly gorgeous, etc etc. there's no weird alternate universe harvesting people. claudine is supposed to be training to be a guardian angel and is a big sweetheart. with her hot twin gay brother claude.

i almost don't want to watch the next season. such a shame..it was going really well for a while. at least there's game of thrones. hopefully after a few seasons they won't do random terrible alterations to the plot, i've heard those books are quite good as well.

what do the fans who haven't read the books think of this opening?
does anyone actually like it lol
 
I watched the first several minutes on demand and I was SO disappointed! I complete agree with Marissaaaaa. He definitely is butchering this part of the books. I will try not to jump to conclusions and see where he goes with it. *crosses fingers*
 
The show would be better if the two main characters would die off. Then I wouldn't have to hear any more, "Soooookay!" or anything that comes out of Anna Penguin's mouth.
 
with no HBO and failing internet, looks like if i want to see this i'll have to hang out with my ex some more like i did for the season finale of game of thrones bahaha. i'm relying on this thread to let me know the level of suckage and if it's worth doing that to watch haha. don't let me down guys!
