Television True Blood

JoeTS- Doesn't it seem like in season 3 so far they are dumbing Jason down even more? I mean, its hilarious, but at the end of Season 2 I thought he was growing more......ah well.

I found a website to watch the episodes online b/c I'm too poor to have HBO :)
Hopefully all goes well with that tonight.
hopefully you caught the latest episode tonight because i definitely agree with you about jason being dumbed down more. the scene tonight when he was killing time at his new "desk job" is a perfect example. yea during season 2 and his involvement with the fellowship of the sun it seemed he was growing more mature. o' well i still like him and he does mean well.

pretty good episode tonight. interesting developments with new characters like the guy that has a crush on lafayette and that mystery girl jason chased down. was lol'n when psycho franklin showed off his uber-fast texting ability. i wonder how this situation plays out with tara. poor girl, if it were not for bad luck she would have none.

btw, me three for a lafayette friend :)

Noooo...I may have to stop reading this thread now....I have only just finished series 2 and have therefore missed the first few of series 3 and don't want to ruin the surprise...

yeah, i missed last nights episode as well, but thats what torrents are for.

however, i cannot imagine jason as a police officer. i want season 1 jason back.

I swear last night was one of the best episodes I've seen. MY ex got finally got me to watch this show last year. I was kind of giving up on it until this season. I love the Franklin character. At first I thought he was toying with Tara. Now I see he is 100% out of his mind and he's hilarious.

Tara: We need to talk.
Franklin: Don't say that. Women say that, everything goes black, and I wake up surrounded by body parts.

Franklin: Hey, Tara, see how fast I type "motherfucker." Cool, right?

Talbot: You and your dusty love beast are at odds with my decor.
Franklin: No one cares what you think about anything. Shut up!

This show was in serious need of a character like Franklin and I hope he stays. Now if they could only limit the soap opera moments they seem to flood into every story line.

Glad to see that Eric gets so much love in this thread. I am totally in love with him :) Usually don't go for blonde men but damn he's hot! I'm also really loving the new werewolf, Alcide. <3

I was going through TB withdrawals over the 4th of July holiday so I started reading the books and I like them even more than the show.

Like I said, I'd bang Eric like a screendoor in a hurricane ;) He's just so sexxxxy.
In episode 1 of the 3rd season when he was having sex with that girl tied to the ceiling...holy lord. *FANS SELF*

PS. I already have a few gay friends who remind me of Lafayette...I love him!
PPS. Godric looks like David Archuleta. This makes me giggle.

Off-topic: Um, hi! I hope you're doing well! <3 :)

On-topic: Is this season better than the last? I could barely make it through the last one... :\

This season is much better than the last, in my opinion. I think Jessica is the best character on the show. She was turned and then pretty much abandoned. She's learning the "vampire rules" in tiny bits and pieces.

The werewolf plot doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but I'm sure they'll work out towards the end of the season.

I still cringe whenever I hear Bill say anything. He is the worst character on the show. That Gone With The Wind accent is like broken glass pushed into my eardrums. I've lived in Louisiana almost my entire life and have NEVER heard any accent even remotely close to what he's speaking.

"Soooookie!" Holy fuck. Just the echo of the memory makes me silently rage!

You are totally right about the "desk job" scene.
Total waste of 60 seconds......

I had a friend who was like Lafayette..... I think its partly why I like Lafayette so much- He reminds me of him.....And I love it.
I want another Lafayette friend.

Franklin is so fuckin' crazy even though I feel terrible for Tara, I can't help but crack up. He is a Bipolar mess.
The Text Messaging scene was AMAZING hahahah I love how after he shows her the third time he's like "Love you" and blows her a kiss.

And MC- You cracked me up with the Hurricane/Eric thing ;)

Even though i got through 2 seasons of this show it's pretty annoying because Sooki (sp?) has such an annoying accent and huge gaps in her teeth and there are heaps of similarities to twilight, plus it needs like a graphic sex scene every episode to keep the audience watching.

as far as i can tell it is similar to twilight because
-150yr old approx vampire loves human
-He drinks synthetic blood and is thus a (vegetarian) like edward
-Sooki is put in danger because of her relationship with her vampire BF
-There is a hierarchy of older vampires which keep strict laws about feeding areas etc such as the volturi

oh and for the first time have i given my laptop the finger when Terra and her mother try to trick Lafyette etc

just had to release my hate for the show

Twilight wasn't even conceived till a few years after True Blood.

Latest episode was nuts, obviously Tara will save the day with the 'good' werewolf. I completely understand how someone could get fed up with all the cyclical drama and change the channel. Something about how True Blood manages to mesh multiple genres together (drama, comedy, dark, thriller, action) keeps me watching.

Without moments of levity like watching Lafyette's character it wouldn't be as good imo

The sookie stackhouse novels came out before twilight.
And there is a hierarchy of older vampires in basically all vampire films.

So i don't think those criticisms are valid.

Good god. I agree with Pheobus and Help Me Please.

Unlike “Twilight,” “True Blood” focuses not only in the love and passion between Sookie and Bill, but with other mythical creatures present in American culture, such as demons, shape shifters-as well as getting psychedelic. And yes, “True Blood” sets a scenario where vampires already have a bigger, more recognized role in society-they can engage with humans, run for politics, and even have their own beverage available for purchase

I may love Rpatz, but the Twilight movies suck huge big hairy donkey balls ;) And yes, I've watched them all. Hahahaha. And had fun!

TRUE

They are raping Eric's character! I *tolerated* season two.. season 3 is better.. I am more or less annoyed that bill can do no wrong and they are destroying Eric's storyline. I know they can't make it the same as the books.. but there is some cool shit from the books that Alan Ball could use...
