I find it a bit difficult sometimes to trip in darkness. I dont wanna sound like a big baby, but because I'm getting no external stimuli, my brain goes go to work on making its own fun, and because I'm such a drama queen/pessimist I always seem conjurer up frightening or overwhelming thoughts that sometimes shoot me into 'the fear' zone.
Just sayin...
Nah, this is possibly not due to you being a pessimist. The intensity of the experience goes up a notch or two quickly after cutting off external stimuli. This can induce anxiety or the impression of being overwhelmed in usually cheerful individuals too.
Sometimes I feel something uneasy or outright dark lurking beneath the surface too. This usually tempts me to pursue what's bothering me in silence and darkness as far as I dare. I think if you do psychedelics to learn a thing or two about yourself, than this is the precise moment where the magic is happening. The compound draws the thing out, and you have to decide if you want to take a look at it. Unless You're on a high dose you should be coherent enough to turn the light back on and chase the remaining shadows away. At high doses you have no choice anyway, the lesson will be tought, wether you want to hear it or not.
