Is listed in Merck Index as being CNS stimulant (not Thera Cat, but as a side effect I believe). Is it generally true that almost any bulky enough group attached to a simple, primary amine, might have stimulant properties?

would expect this to be a cholinergic like tetramethylammonium compounds which do have some cns stim effects shortly before killing you.

nuno, not tertiary, but I was off by (1) methyl group. It is tributylamine "Caution: Causes CNS stimulation, skin irritation, sensitization." But of course would convert it to a salt!

Just looking at the shape, I bet its not a great stimulant, and possibly a convulsant poison (stimulant) much like cyclonite or tetramethylenedisulfotetramine, or even strychnine (in effect).

Its tri (not tetra, just in case you didn't see my correction). And yeah, the ref. to CNS stim. was in the "Merck Index" - NOT in the MSDS.

i bet you live 4 moments like that in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you banned me as a result of your anger at this post. Still, I will abide by the rules, and I think you, as a mod, should follow the spirit of those rules as well (although I hear you've been given wide discression), and not ban a productive member on his 1st day, even if my lack of respect for you gets you pissed. I do follow the spirit of those rules - where in this forum have I said anything in the spirit of your post that I edited. Productive or not, if you indulge in out & out insults, action has to be taken (see the BLUA). I actually let a lot of things go by in this forum that strictly I should be issuing warnings for but I'd rather just edit and advise people not to do it again.
