If i ever got addicted to etiz or something trying to get my local gp docs to understand it would be a nightmare, wouldnt have a clue i expect, would be a messed up situation. theres a few knobheads at my docs. churn through patients, expect it makes them look good when theyve tallyd up a load patients that theyve seen during the day. i remember i was having stomach issues years ago, saw my doc and she was like "do you drink, do you smoke" and i was like yeah and started being blunt and bassicaly said stop drinking and smoking and turfed me out, how the fuck did she know drinking and smoking had anything to do with it. my stomch has been fine now for years, righted itself somehow. still got shingles at the mo and my doc was relucant to write me a medial note of proof to show my work place, its not like its much effort for him to write me a note,

It's crazy how little a lot of these professionals know. I was trying to have a conversation about phenibut, etizolam, and tramadol with my doctor (an addiction specialist), and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

Btw does suboxone block tramadol?

Yeah, surprising at the least that an addiction specialist hasn't heard of Tramadol, one of the most widely used opioids worldwide.

Yep. Slightly different class but I was talking to a diabetic specialist (she had the word on a lapel badge) nurse the other day who had never even HEARD of ginkgo biloba. What tree do you have to live up to have not even heard of that? And remember, these people get paid a LOT of money just to get out of bed in the morning.

Just because we tag the word specialist on anyone doesn't mean they know fuck all. But presentation is everything in the world today.

Btw does suboxone block tramadol?

Large doses of suboxone will prevent other opiates/opiods from getting to get to the opiuate receptors as bupe binds more strongly to them than anything else. Having said that tramadol has other properteries than just being an opioid. I think its an extremely weak opioid, im not sure on the numbers or comparisons. But i think tramadol has other effects than opiate effects, such as the anti depressant effects. Theres a lot of "i thinks" in my reply, so someone else may be able to answer better than me but im fairly confident about knowing what bupe does. Im not really sure what Tramadol does tbh.

... err.. im probably going to get a bit of flame for this but... dont know about other places but where i am nurses have to know quite little else than to follow simple orders from docs most of the time... though they get paid shit. probably different in the UK or US.... they do pretend to know a lot more though. i guess its part of the job too, seeming to know everything to gain trust and positively influence patients...

on the other hand, docs and nurses have to know a lot more than just psychoactive drugs, and most of the time each specialize in a very narrow field as things progress quite fast in all directions. would be hard for one to keep up with everything.
and i mean, if there is one field that has been exploding as of recent, is the RC field... heck, even you/us geeks here dont know every substance out there...

well, ginko biloba is in fact given as medicine for some neurological problems, also vascular issues... they have a pill for for the extract...

but you are right though, it is rather hard not to have heard of it

For a user with no previous opiate experience, how likely is 100mg to give nausea?
Also is 100mg considered a low/med/high dose without tolerance?

I've been prescribed cautiously (because my gp gave me a lecture about how how nasty these can be..) 50mg Tramadol Hydrochloride one or two 4 times a day when required. I'm about to taper off a SSRI though still taking quite a cocktail of psych meds. I read alcohol is a no-no. I have nerve pain via carpel tunnel syndrome.

Any advice?

I get about the same level of analgesia from tramadol as I do from codeine, mg for mg. However, I find it several times harder to pee. It's usually the drug of choice to be prescribed after surgery at the hospital I frequent, after they take away the magic fentanyl green button (), I think it's cheaper than codeine. But the last 2 ops I've had I mentioned the peeing thing to the anaesthetist and they made sure I got codeine instead.

I never really abused tramadol, even after the big ops last year where I was prescribed it by the bucket load, because I read somewhere that the risk of seizures was pretty high?

Thanks Rogan. I've never taken tramadol before and don't have it on my recreational list at the moment as I have pain to deal with. I'm just wondering how far you can go with it and what are the no-no combos with it. Is it even worth trying to take it for recreational use? Looking at the side effect lists is freaky.

kate, I got loads of it after surgery for a dog bite, it gives a mild warm, cosey feeling but I always felt it was barely there, very subtle. be interested to hear what higher doses are like.

I've had tramadol prescribed but it feels too strange/icky at 150mg+, less is more for me. Don't go over 400mg per 24hr as seizure risk increases sharply above that point, and withdrawal is fairly terrible with a combination of antidepressant and opioid wd symptoms simultaneously so be careful with daily use.

For nerve pain I suggest pregabalin or gabapentin. In my experience pregabalin is very effective AND pleasant combined with light opioids (codeine/DHC/tramadol etc).

there's is a 50% chance it'll work very well for you. eg get recreational value(high) and good pain relief

it can take up to two hours for the tramadol-opiod effects to kick in.

generally tramadol is pretty safe ime when not mixed, it is also a SSRI so i don't mix anything with it except weed. Depends what other things you're on though, obv your doc has said it's O.K

do not go over 350mg - 400mg in 24hours - you can actually have sezures at these high doses--400mg+
I would take 50mg first and see how you feel in 2 hours. i'll normally take 150mg then i couple top-ups later on

I've been taking large amounts of tramadol for 3 years (800mg a day at least ). I have had a couple of seizures on it ,but only when I was mixing phentermine and alcohol with it (I know, stupid ).
