Tramadol

UTFSE

tramadol is the worst opiate in existence
it has no recreational value and can make you have seizures

I love how you say to UTFSE when you so obviously speak from total ignorance.

Douche.

Hmm, I read somewhere (here on bluelight) saying if you have pure tramadol powder you could IV it. I have capsules that contains small white balls. If i crush them to powder and filter it through cotton, would that work? I mean I know it's bad to shoot pills and stuff, but I'm withdrawing from heroin and I love the needle, I just want to shot it if it's possible and it's not going to be an every day thing. Im going to wait till my opiate tolerance drops so I can use 100-200 mg tramadol orally, just want to shot 300-400 mg this once.

edit: Hmm, maybe 400 mg is a bit much to IV, so Im thinking 300 mg and I have some methocarbamol (muscle relaxant) to make the chances for seizures smaller

^You won't get a rush. Tramadol needs to be converted to its active metabolite by the liver anyway, so you'll still have to wait for it to hit, as far as I'm aware.

I take tramadol daily. I can safely say that it has done nothing but improve my quality of life. I have tried many antidepressants without much luck, and this is the only one that actually works. I don't take it to get high - it's literally taken like I would take Zoloft.

And I have drive again - drive to do well in school, excel at my job, and create artistically like I used to. I've done better at work, for instance, than I've ever done before - I actually look forward to my job, and I'm currently applying for a supervisor position.

I've taken it for four months now, and I've noticed no tolerance issues. It's still as strong of an effect as ever - and my serotonin levels are probably quite high all the time. I'm not high like an opiate high constantly. In the way I take the drug, it's much more of a subtle effect.

And I think this "seizure threshold" is bullshit and I only say this because I have taken gigantic amounts of Tramadol and not had a seizure...has anyone had a seizure from Tramadol?
go to erowid and read the reports there on tramadol....there are several people who have had seizures on it...if i remember correctly, one girl kept taking large amounts and had more than one....

not really a true op8 IMO, i rember hearing its very similar but synthetic (not of opium)..could be wrong though, i personaly dont mind it my momz used ta feed it to me when i had a headache, and wonders why i have had issues with drugs8) , certainly not ur standard op8 high more of a pick me up with pain relief properties.

I shot 200 mg yesterday, and while it was no rush I did feel it almost instantly. Getting really warm and stuff. But it was a bit too much, so glad I didn't shoot 300 or 400 like I originally planned. Going to try 100 mg now, that should be nice.

^interesting, how did it feel other than being "warm and stuff". i know that tramadol has mu affinity but compared to M1 it's almost nothing.

was it speedy, euphoric or somthin else.
im really interested so it would be nice if you could be more specific. thanks

IV Tramadol

nodnormal: Do you have the sustained-released capsules which have "T100SR" printed on them? If you happen to have those I would be careful with IV usage, I have found some more information about Tramadol and various ROAs which might be helpful for you or anyone else who enjoys Tramadol.

A piece of information about Tramadol concerning the risk of injecting Tramadol:
Do not crush the tramadol tablet. This medicine is for oral (by mouth) use only. Powder from a crushed tablet should not be inhaled or diluted with liquid and injected into the body. Using this medicine by inhalation or injection can cause life-threatening side effects, overdose, or death. - [1]

Do not crush, chew, break, or open a controlled-release, delayed-release, or extended-release tablet or capsule. Swallow the pill whole. Breaking or opening the pill may cause too much of the drug to be released at one time. - [1]

What other drugs will affect tramadol?
You may be more likely to have a seizure (convulsions) if you take tramadol while you are using certain other medicines. Do not take tramadol without telling your doctor if you also use any of the following medications:

an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), or selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam); or an antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), citalopram (Celexa), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem), fluvoxamine (Luvox), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor); paroxetine (Paxil), or sertraline (Zoloft).

Before taking tramadol, tell your doctor if you also use:
  • carbamazepine (Tegretol);
  • warfarin (Coumadin);
  • digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps);
  • ketoconazole (Nizoral);
  • erythromycin (E-Mycin, E.E.S., Ery-Tab);
  • rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane, Rifater);
  • St. John's wort;
  • quinidine (Quinaglute, Quinadex, Cardioquin, Quinora); or
  • drugs that make you sleepy (such as cold medicine, other pain medications, muscle relaxants, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety). - [1]

I hope some of this information helps, searching for tramadol+IV on Google gave a lot of useless results so I think PubMed or RxList have the best information. Erowid might also have some information and I am willing to translate an info leaflet and put it on the web somewhere. :)

Remember also that IVing pills are generally a bad idea, Tramadol has a good bio availability when taken orally, so IMHO it's not worth the risk and if you still want to IV Tramadol be sure to use a micron filter instead of cotton. (am I correct here? not an IV user myself, but harm reduction FTW...)

Peace o/

Yes, I have spanish sustained-release capsules. And I read alot before shooting. Tramadol Hcl is water soluble and my solution became clear as water with a lot of the pill stuff remaining on the spoon. The only reason i shoot is because i have opiate tolerance so I have to eat 300-400 mg to feel it. But I didn't like shooting 200 or 100 mg. Made me a bit warm, uncomfortable and nauseous. Nothing like the first time i tried tramadol (when I didn't have a tolerance) with 100-200 mg orally. So I guess I'll wait a week or two till my tolerance is gone and try 100-200 mg again. The first few times I tried it I really loved it, now i didn't so I'm hoping it's the tolerance thing.

Does anyone know how long till my tolerance is gone? It's been a week and two days since i've done any dope (and i tapered down to .2-.4 grams smoked a day) and three days since I did 8 mg subutex (if that has any influence on opiate tolerance)

Ive only taken tramadol once but I feel that if ive ever been so close to a seizure it was on this shit. I took 120 milis (i think) and had to spend a good hour in the bathroom at school to sober up. I thought my head was rolling around on my shoulder and my vision was spinning. I do admit that at some points it felt good but that was for like a half hour, after that it sucked. At one point when I stepped outside the sunlight felt so strong that I had to walk with my eyes closed only opening them when i felt it was time to turn.

So with Tramadol you might wna take like 60 milis or something your first time to see how your body reacts cause clearly mine did not react well.

Tramadol is a very very subjective and personal drug.

The first time I took it, I had no idea about the seizure threshold. In fact, I found them in the cabinet prescribed for my dog (they are in fact the #1 pain killer for vets). Anyway, I ended up taking like 20 in a couple of hours because I didn't have any hydro, and W/D was setting in and you know how that goes...

Any way, Tramadol can be overwhelming and overpowering with its seretonin effects. Likewise, its removal after continuous use can have delitirous (sp) effects on your mental health. When I have run out after using it properly for say a month, I experience what can only be described as benzo withdrawal (from what I've heard from u guys here on BL).

Tramadol is NOT a powerful analgesic like Hydro or Oxy, but in high doses can have a highly euphoric effect as well as providing a useful painkilling effect.

And it most definitely in my opinion works as an Anti Depressant as well. I have never found a medication that worked so well in so many areas for me. I personally love this medicine. Hope this helps the OP.

Normally I'd think that enough has been said in this topic and I don't need to state my opinion, but I love Tramadol too much to not say anything about it. I've used "harder" opiates (Oxycodone, Dilaudid and Hydrocodone are my main opiates) and I still love the effects from Trams. It lasts longer than any opiate out there, and it's really smooth. Helps me sleep (like any other opiate) and just feels good. My dose is usually 200 mg-ish. The only down-side I'd mention (it's not even that big of a deal) is that it takes a while to take effect (about an hour or so.)

As far as nausea goes, I haven't experienced an amount enough to complain about. Maybe slight nausea here and there, but it's not a big deal.

Give it a try. You probably want to start out with 100-150 mg.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised- I tried Tramadol for the first time today without expecting too much, as I had been told it is fairly weak compared to hydocodone... but I ended up appreciating the friendly little buzz it gave me and the long-lasting effects. I took it approximately 5 hours ago and can still feel it fine. I think next time I will take 100 mg, because I only took 50 and it was fairly mild, but in general, I'm looking forward to experimenting further with it. :)

I really enjoy tramadol. :)

I have AD/HD and take Strattera (atomoxetine, a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) and Remeron (mirtazapine, a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) for said disorder. Although there exists the potential, however remote, for serotonin syndrome, I’ve never had an issue, perhaps because I am well acclimated to the mirtazapine and atomoxetine- I’ve been on both for 6 years and down regulation has surely occurred.

I find that 50mg IR tramadol, about 200mg taken over the course of several hours, GREATLY compliments my maintenance meds, markedly reducing AD/HD symptomology by improving focus. Although I don’t suffer from depression, I also notice a pleasant mood lift in this dose range.

“For fun,” I take 400mg, 200mg in the form of sustained-release tabs and 200mg in the form of IR tabs. I take two 100mg SR tabs at time zero, then take 4 50mg IR tabs over the course of the next 4-8 hours. The high starts off, as other posters have stated, as very stimulating. However, by keeping a steady stream in my system, it eventually becomes opiate-like. This is particularly true when I take Tegretol (carbamazepine) with it. The concomitant use of Tegretol serves two purposes: 1) Tegretol is an anticonvulsant, so I don’t have to worry about seizures (although I always take diazepam when on tramadol anyway); and 2) most importantly, Tegretol induces tramadol at cytochrome CYP2D6. Although we generally want to take inhibitors, rather than inducers, with our opiates, inducing tramadol facilitates its metabolism into M1, which has many times the affinity for the mu receptor; hence, the more pronounced opiate-like effects. Technically, St. John’s Wort would be an even more potent inducer, but I’m not willing to risk serotonin syndrome as I’m already on mirtazapine.

I was taking Tramadol about two years ago. I started out taking 3-50mg tablets. Within a month, I increased my dosage to 4-50mg tabs and then 5-50mg. I topped out taking 6-50mg tablets.

After a month of using 300mgs of Tramadol every 8-12 hours, I suffered a seizure. I have no history of seizures and they are not in my family's medical history.

I was sitting at home using my computer when I became rigid and fell to the floor, shaking for less than 1 minute. I do not remember this happening. My wife filled in the blanks.

I was having headaches (like those mentioned in this thread). Before the seizure started, I remember feeling really sick to my stomach. The next thing I remember is waking up confused as hell, in the back of an ambulance. I have never been so wore out and tired in my life.

So if you take Tramadol, be careful. You might not have a seizure this time, this month, or next, but the possibility of having a seizure from this medication is real...Ask my kids who were scared shitless.

*raises hand* i had a seizure a few days ago, and i had been taking tramadol regurlaly, not really even trying to abuse them because they were pretty weak imo but i took em anyway for my pain but yeah, i got a seizure from it, fuckin sucked too, i was driving when it happened and drove onto a median, lost conscussiosnes, came to hearing a cops voice say "he drove onto the median" and that was it, got sent to the hospital, stayed for an hour or so and went on with my life, i cant even say it was real horrible or anything because i hardly remember but it could have been somebodies death, but fuck tramadol, i aint takin it no more, they gave me vicodin now, lol=D

i have mabron 50mg tramadol hcl...can i just mix it with water and IV it? it comes in the yellow green pill form...i can seperate the pill and get the powder out.

i dont know why everyone complains about it so much. i find it to be stimulating yet relaxing. its good when its free, doctors prescribe it like nothing. it works tho. :)

I am on 200mg of tramadol right now haha, also 50mg of doxylamine succinate to make it more sedating. I think it cops a bit too much shit on this site as it isn't bad.

Weirdly this is only my third time trying it and my 1st time was less than 2 weeks ago, I am not opiate tolerant but it seems like tolerance to this stuff builds quickly as the first time I used it I had 150mg with some loose otc codeine lying around (only 40mg) and I felt it a fair bit more.
