^ I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you call it that people might ridicule you. Taking opiates is not a "trip."
Anyway, here's the part where I say something helpful:
The respiratory depression is not any stronger than that of 10mg oxycodone. And 10mg oxycodone isn't a large dose by any means, so you might have a body chemistry that just does not like opiates. Or perhaps it doesn't like morphine-based opiates, as is the case for some people, and tramadol would be OK. It does give some degree of nausea in higher doses, but for someone with no tolerance like you, taking 1-2 pills (may as well start with 1 if you want to be
extra careful) won't cause that kind of nausea. You should feel a warm feeling of well-being overcoming your body, and probably some stimulation/motivation. If not, maybe opiates just aren't your thing. Then again, there are a lot of cases where the first few times using a substance yields zero or negative effects, then it eventually makes way to the effects it should yield. Perhaps this will be your experience.
Good luck, with whatever decision you make. Just don't freak out. 50mg (1 pill) tramadol isn't going to kill anybody. Not even a 7 year old child.
P.S. - You could try using the search engine. There you will find hundreds of threads on tramadol. No matter what though, no matter how many posts you read, the only way to know what its like, and if you like it, it to take it.
