Tramadol

I have heard tramadol is a pretty good opiate. Does anyone have any experience with it? Im not a big fan of opiates since I tried Oxycodone. I only took 10 mg because I had never taken opiates before. It was a shitty high and i was sick as a dog.......

MOST people don't like Tramadol. But, there are a few lucky people out there who like it and enjoy it and get pain relief from it, such as myself. Well.. i used to enjoy it. As i moved up the opiate ladder i stopped enjoying it and more importantly it stopped working for my pain.

If your talking about the high. It has a completely different high than other opiates. Don't expect a mind blowing amazing high. A Tramadol high is more of a stimulating high, it gives you lots of energy. Well.. at least for me it did and for the lucky other few.

But most people are disappointed by it. And also some people are fearful of it because of the seizure threshold issue. I've taken mass amounts of the stuff and never had a seizure but that doesn't' mean i couldn't have or won't ever have a seizure. I read that if you are already prone to seizures than your more likely to have a siezure from it. Also if you add it with certain antidepressants The seizure threshold can increase.

Just be careful with it. And they say to take more than 400mgs in a 24 hour period. Just because I've taken way more that doesn't mean it's safe to do so lol.

Tramadol might make you sick too, I abuse it like mad so I know things....
You might get hot flashes and puke, so jsut to let you know...
any specific questions?

I use Tramadol daily as a pain med and TBH after building a tolerance to it kinda loses it's magic, but if you're not used to heavier opiates it can give you a slightly stimulating high. Never go above 400 mg per 24 hours indeed and try spreading your dosages apart instead of taking it all at once, it has increased bio-availability that way if I recall correctly.

What type of Tramadol do you have? I have white round pills which are 100 mg (Extended Release I believe). The capsules with powder (50 mg) are better in my own experience.

I still love Tramadol sometimes though :), it's not to bad except for that damn seizure limit :|

I quite like tramadol. It gives me energy and makes me more talkative, and less fearful.

I think before I put something down my neck, I'd do a search and read untill my eyes bled. Or you could sit and wait for a half dozen opinions to make your decision. I guess it depends on how much value you place on your health/life. Just my opinion.

I dont think it is the opiate of "choice" for most people, but if you really need something it will work, plus it is not a controlled substance so it is very easily obtainable. it is much better than propoxyphene, which is a controlled substance and harder to obtain.

if you don't like oc you probably won't like tramadol. i'd say 99/100 opiate junkies would prefer oc over tramadol. if 10mg oc made you sick you should only try 50-100mg of tramadol. it's not as heavy a narcotic as oxy so you shouldn't get sick but it can have its other side effects...

Thanks everyone. I was wondering about the nausea level. I didn't really take enough oxy to know what an opiate trip is like so I have nothing to compare the tramadol to. I might try it, but I was reading about the other side effects. "Seriously depressed breathing" doesn't sound good to me, but then, the med people always exagerate.

oh and BTW ernie...... I totally agree with you. What do you think i've been doing all afternoon and why do you think im asking questions here?

opiate trip
^ I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you call it that people might ridicule you. Taking opiates is not a "trip."

Anyway, here's the part where I say something helpful:
The respiratory depression is not any stronger than that of 10mg oxycodone. And 10mg oxycodone isn't a large dose by any means, so you might have a body chemistry that just does not like opiates. Or perhaps it doesn't like morphine-based opiates, as is the case for some people, and tramadol would be OK. It does give some degree of nausea in higher doses, but for someone with no tolerance like you, taking 1-2 pills (may as well start with 1 if you want to be extra careful) won't cause that kind of nausea. You should feel a warm feeling of well-being overcoming your body, and probably some stimulation/motivation. If not, maybe opiates just aren't your thing. Then again, there are a lot of cases where the first few times using a substance yields zero or negative effects, then it eventually makes way to the effects it should yield. Perhaps this will be your experience.
Good luck, with whatever decision you make. Just don't freak out. 50mg (1 pill) tramadol isn't going to kill anybody. Not even a 7 year old child.

P.S. - You could try using the search engine. There you will find hundreds of threads on tramadol. No matter what though, no matter how many posts you read, the only way to know what its like, and if you like it, it to take it.

And I think this "seizure threshold" is bullshit and I only say this because I have taken gigantic amounts of Tramadol and not had a seizure...has anyone had a seizure from Tramadol?

^ A lot of people have had seizures from it. Hence the seizure warning.

What you said is like saying "I think this whole 'heroin overdose' thing is bullshit. I've slammed a lot of dope and I'm still alive. No one dies from heroin overdoses."

thats okay. Im not that experienced with this slang anyway...
*pondering* what would you call it?

I've done Oxycontin, Dilaudid (IV), heroin (IV), and lots of others, and I still enjoy Tramadol. It's just a matter of personal preference.

I say I got a buzz; I'm high; I'm leaning; I'm nodding (out). (nodding being the strongest out of the 4)

The ongoing tramadol debate will never end. It works for some, it works for others. I actually enjoyed it. It is subtle and not like an opiate high, I think because I have battled soem depression issues for most my life I think it worked more on alleving some depression. Since I don't use opiates on a regular basis anymore, I gave it a try for back pain. It helped somewhat. I never went over 300 mgs a day when I had it.

Tramadol is the SHIT.

I've only had it twice, 100 mgs both times, and it was 8 hours of pure bliss. I fucking love it.

Just thinking about it makes me want to order it online, maybe I will :)

I've been taking it for the AD component and it really does make me a happy camper all day even when shit happens. 50mg for me is enough to last me about 6-8 hours.

I'm currently taking 50mg pills tramadol and FOR ME it's very well.
So I may say I have a good experience with this.

I even can give a link where to buy this with no script ;)
That is not allowed. Next time it's a warning. -phrozen

But use it carefully...
