Top 5 electronic producers

Simon Posford
John Digweed
Telefon Tel Aviv
Squarepusher
Secede

Those are my favorites, but I haven't been into the stuff for long, maybe a year or so. Infected Mushroom has a lot of great stuff but also a lot of stuff I don't like so I didn't list them.

Top 5 is hard to choose lol but if I have to they'd be (in no particular order):

Wolfgang Gartner

Deadmau5 (oops I said it >.<)

Benny Benassi

Le Castle Vania

Glitter (new fav Minimal producer)

medicine drum
logic bomb
underworld
chemical brothers
atmos

Didn't realise you were so into your Goa trance! I'm glad you included Underworld though - I really can't praise them highly enough!!!

Underworld are almost as much a load of over-rated cack as deadmouse.

Care to give us your top 5 then, Tranced? (I'm guessing Underworld aren't in it!)

I've noticed a few people mention John Digweed in this thread. Do you really rate him that highly as a producer? - I mean I know a lot of people rate him highly as a DJ (although personally I've always found him boring and soulless), but this thread isn't about DJs!!!

Alex Smoke is awesome although I reckon Incommunicado blows the socks off his follow up album Paradolia...

I prefer Incommunicado too. But I do also love Paradolia. Incommunicado is more 'clubby', whereas Paradolia is more 'noodley'. He's released loads of good tracks besides those 2 albums though.

Check this out - Alex Smoke live in Calgary (July 2009) - I only discovered this recently - it was a link from his Myspace page. I can't get enough of it!!!

^ like a bit of Alex Smoke myself :) One can only dream of being anywhere near as good..

mine, without giving it too much thought would have to be

1. RDJ
2. Richie Hawtin
3. Orbital
4. µ-Ziq
5. Drexciya

Salthough its a very tough call, so many artists worth a mention, thumbs up on Speedy J James Holden and modeselektor, also got to mention Dom Smart (as Neurodriver) because I have recently started loving his stuff %)

My favorites simply:
1 - Armin Van Buuren (Vocal/Prog Trance)
2 - Tiesto (Hard/Uplifting/Epic Trance)
3 - Cosmic Gate (Hard gone Vocal/Prog Trance)
4 - Vibe Tribe (Psytrance)
5 - Ferry Corsten (Hard Trance mostly)

Oh and people who call Armin, Tiesto commercial, have a listen to their earlier tunes a.k.a
Blue Fear and Suburban Train (to get some clue ;)) - there's a difference between GONE commercial and ALWAYS been commercial :)

Armin Van Buuren

Just to remind everyone, the correct answer is:

I'm amazed that Bassnectar hasn't made it into this thread yet.

My 5:

Simon Posford
Bassnectar
Beats Antique
Pretty Lights
Trifonic

I want to keep putting lists together.

I can think of five more, again.
