MrKitty2, I haven't ever bartended anywhere but applebee's so I'm not sure how their set-up varies from a typical bar. But yes, the juices are all in store n pours and they are used for both kids drinks if a kid orders an orange juice, for example or if an adult orders a screwdriver the bartender is going to reach for the same container in both cases. So, yeah they are all in the same general area although like I said the non-alcoholic mixers are in a cooler and the margarita mixes are on the rail by the liquor bottles. But like I said the store n pours are all identical they are just color coded, so it is theoretical that they could get mixed up either by someone grabbing the wrong one or by someone putting the wrong liquid in the wrong container. All I know is that at a regular bar usually it isn't going to be such a big deal if someone accidentally gets served an alcoholic beverage. But with applebee's having kids at the restaurant and the bartender being responsible for both alcoholic and kids drinks, maybe they need to think about doing something different. Also, something I didn't mention is that at the applebee's I worked at employee's would sometimes keep drinks behind the bar that they would drink from during work. It was against the rules, but we would hide them and I never saw anyone ever get caught. We would usually put them in kids cups because you couldn't see through them and see what was actually in them. Some people would go so far to put hard liquor in them and drink on the job or it could be as innocent as just having a soda to sip on. Either way, you can see how that could turn out badly too if someone accidentally grabbed the wrong cup and gave it to a kid.
