Evening folks. I've a question on tobacco and sleep.
Now, I am a what I guess you would consider a very infrequent smoker. Almost a non smoker in fact. I smoke on average, about one cigarette, every 2 years. What I have noticed over the last few years though, is that whenever I smoke my cigarette, I sleep to be unable to sleep that night. Now I am aware that nicotine is a stimulant, and that there could be a connection. But I thought it would be too shorting to cause this?
Well aware of the dilemma, I decided to smoke today but only a small amount. So, I took 2 small puffs off a cigarette and put it out. I am also a heroin addict, and I found those two little puffs certainly synergize well with my opiate buzz. About an hour or two later, I felt back to baseline. I smoked that cigarette first thing in the morning, which is about 1 pm for me, in order to minimize the risk of it keeping me awake tonight. Yet here we are, its after 4 am, I am very tired, but sleep will not come. COuld this be because I smoked the cigarette?
It seems ridiculous that such a tiny amount (two small puffs) so long ago, could still be effecting me. Yet I have no other explanation. What say you?
