I used 2C-I in the early-mid 2000's often twice a week, but never more than that (as far as frequency is concerned). I developed HPPD exclusively from 2C-I as far as I can tell. Anyway, other than that my body was fucked up before I used drugs and it's fucked up now but I'm healthier now than I was years ago.
One thing to note is that my visual perception of reality is considerably different than what it was when I first started having HPPD symptoms. It used to be isolated incidences. I'd see trails on cars, the carpet would morph, things that were small and insignificant but novel. These persisted (and become more permanent) over the years but it was only when I started playing around with tryptamines, did the HPPD symptoms change. I've used lots of tryptamines in very high doses over the past 2 years, sometimes in binges.
Now the effects are more like a low dose DMT trip than a low dose LSD/mushroom trip like they were before. The visuals are ever-changing, but it's consistent in intensity on a daily basis. I suffer some mild word-salad in high-stress settings and sometimes experience depersonalization and/or derealization and memory flashbacks (usually of things not drug related) that are powerful enough to disrupt my thinking. Oddly the DP/DR doesn't mess with my thinking so much, just distracts it. It's the mini-mind flashbacks that will randomly make me laugh out loud inappropriately, want to cry or just make me feel good. The memory recall is affected by environmental triggers but the recall is intensified in experience.
