To bupe or not to bupe?

if you want to get off opiates, and have the will power, try bupe... but it won't give you an opiate high, at least not after the first week or so... and if you sniff it or IV it you'll be screwing up the whole "therapy" of the bupe... i should know, i fuck up big time with bupe, but at least i'm off other opies

I think the best use for it, is to end your addiction. Staying on it isn't going to help you get a job, it's not the same as normal opiates. So if your looking to quit and stabalize then try taking it for a few months.

If your trying to get high, your tripping. Plus it taste nasty, and you always have to take 10 minutes out of your day to disolve that shit under your tongue.

Taking suboxone daily does not end your opiate addiction, it just changes it to a different opiate (edit- although it can help end it in the long term, which I now realize is what you probably meant). I personally think it's better to quit without bupe if you can, I would think that tapering and quitting is a better method because if you take bupe daily you're just going to have to go through withdrawals that can last a very long time. Different people respond to different treatments though, and suboxone really does work for some people. I can definitely see its uses, although I think it would be better for doctors to prescribe a different opiate in its place. If you are a daily suboxone user though, you're still an opiate addict.

if your main priority every day when you get up is making sure you have dope, if you are turning down dates with friends or someone you're attracted to because you're sick and you need to score, if you're at work and can't work because you couldn't score and all you can think about is how you're going to get well later.... AND you're tired of living this way

then give Bupe a try, it can give you your life back, it's a wonderful feeling to wake up an not have to worry about getting money to get well, just waking up not in withdrawal is like a miracle if you've been too strung out recently (or not strung out enough..)

however if you have a money tree in your back yard right next to a heroin warehouse...... you may be very well content just staying on heroin.

I'd say give it a shot if you really want to quit, I don't think any of the things you are worried about are going to be any kind of a problem... overall the pros outweigh the cons in my experience.
