Thoughts on the "I Drive Better High" principle

How about we don't drive at all, and just call our parents any time we need to go places?

Ive had some fucked up driving experiences.. A few that just throw everyones theories/statistics to shit. I was always so against driving fucked up and preached to people about how u cant do it until i went to the psych for possible bipolar and he gave meds that launched me into a wreckless manic state. i am however supposedly a good driver(on the roads, not parking lots) when im wrecked if a group of friends and i are fucked up and have to go somewhere they always have me drive. One morning after an alcohol blackout i was informed that i was found at 12:30 am doin donuts by myself in a school parking lot... the people that found me called and followed me home, they said i was driving totally perfect(not saying its good, actually kinda scary)

One of the more fucked up driving experiences ive had was on a recent adderal/coke/mj binge.. i had been up for a few days and i was on my way to a bonfire and i wanted to go out on some backroads and blow a few lines of the soft. i kept blacking out/falling asleep and everytime i woke up id be deeper into the middle of nowhere. I finally gathered my shit together enough to take up some to wake me up.... Problem was i didnt chop em out, i just blew straight from my shaker bottle which ended up bein quite a bit too much. so then im FLOSSIN down backroads freakin out soo hard cause i had no idea where i was or how i got there. Even if i did realize where i was id forget 10 seconds later... It was scary as hell and i really want to avoid that whenever possible. shit like smaller doses of other stimulants(adderal/ritalin/even little bits of meth) are ok though because it increases alertness.

Seriously im an idiot and im lucky to be alive and out of jail. I just say find a good friend thats willing to drive u around, its not worth risking it/// not just injuring/killing yourself or someone else the legal troubles are horrendus and its a stupid way to get caught with a lot of work.

Do as i say not as i do, be safe, be smart....Party hearty

People taking MMT don't get high, but just take enough not to get sick.

Yea, but the fact that they aint high, dont mean that there aint still a heavy opiate in their system. Your logic is fucked up becuz even if they "aint doing it to get high", by your standards they would still be impaired. when you say "Any drug decreases response time, reflexes, observation, etc, whether you think it does or not, so dont drive cuz even if you think youre OK there is still a drug in your veins that will have a impact", then that gotta apply to everything. if it applies to weed, then someone on done is in the same boat.

you bring up a buncha gray area when you try and make exceptions "cuz , well, bla bla bla, they aint high" or whatever. what if i got cramps or a stomachache so i smoked some weed to chill that shit out and feel better. I wasnt doin it to get high, i just wanted to use it as a medicine. That aint gonna change the fact that regardless of the intention of why i did it, the same drug is still in my system....You cant pick and choose when it comes to this shit. If you got ADD and need adderall, you still the same exact XXXmg of adderall in your system as the dude next to you that took the same dose to get high but he wasnt prescribed it.

if you can be makin exceptions like that you are just takin away sense from your system of figurin out the risk and justifying different shit, but your own arguement of "It dont matter if you THINK youre good, you still are on drugs" is the same arguement that makes the contradicting "Oh, but _____ is OK" fall apart. jus a thought....

What about being sick from withdrawal? Lets say you got a serious habit and your dopesick. You climb into your car sweating bullets, feeling shitty, tired because you havent slept, so sick you shouldnt be out of bed. Then you drive to wherever to meet your dealer or to cop and you get your shit and do it. Now your not sick, you just got right and now you drive home feeling fine. Is that considered driving high?

To all of you driving high... you are selfish, ignorant fools. It's simply ridiculous and dangerous.

Mods can delete this post but not the fact that all of you put yourselves and other people in danger every time you drive on drugs.

i love rollin around smoking a blizzy, doesnt make me a better driver but no worse

You post will not be deleted my friend. The purpose of this thread is to state you thoughts and opinions regarding driving high. Your thought and opinion on this subject or any subject for that matter in the Drug Culture forum is respected by my fellow Moderators, Bluelighters, and myself. I want you and everyone for that matter to remember that. Feel free to speak your mind in any thread and never be afraid to do so.

it depends, if you take enough to get "high" and you are intoxicated and nodding out then yes its driving high. if you just take enough to end the sickness, then no.

Nah man if youre dope sick, like real dope sick that shit can be hellis hand make a shitty driver out of anyone nodding would be betterthanb driving dope sick

I think it depends on the type of drug you are driving on and whether or not you know how it effects you and your ability to react in an emergency.

People who get really fucked up and go out driving for the fun of it are just selfish arseholes who are just looking for a manslaughter charge.

umm what? im saying that driving after taking enough opiate to alleviate withdrawal is better than driving while nodding in and out of consciousness.

When I drink, I usually drink very slowly, maybe having one beer per hour. An associate of mine somehow got his hands on a police breathalyser. While I was over at his place, I had a beer about two hours before I tried it out. It registered 0.000 the three times I managed to blow correctly. I suppose this means I metabolise alcohol fairly quickly. So at the rate I normally drink at, I am normally ok to drive if I stop drinking about two hours before I start driving.

I have also driven coming down or under the influence of LSD, 2C-B and MDMA. On LSD, I noticed that I was very easily distracted, so I had to concentrate very hard. I would hate driving while tripping with other people in the car. Having those people navigate is even worse. Thankfully I wasn't tripping while they were navigating. On 2C-B I could barely see straight. That was horrible. Driving after MDMA can be bad if you get bad comedowns. Concentration gets shot to shit because you start spacing out. Very bad in traffic.

I think the best way to answer that is if you did have an accident and were drug tested would you test positive? In the end- that is what matters especially legally.

Would the general population on the roads be better off if you were at home feeling half dead instead of behind the wheel? Of course! But I don't think that is at the forefront of people's minds when they are desperate to score.

I dont know what the testing procedures are in the US for alcohol and drugs in your system- by what I see on TV (COPS etc) you have a series of silly looking sobriety tests, and the breathalyser doesn't get used every time there is an accident. What about road side drug testing? Its happening over here in Aus.

Driving better while high? Horseshit!

I used to chief a bowl before any and all roadtrips, and it gave me a 'devil may care' attitude towards the road. Under the influence of weed, I could zone in on the music I was blasting, or the beautiful upstate New York scenery, and banish all thoughts that I had any chance of getting nailed, whether it was for going way over the speed limit, never using my turn signal, or gunning it through all yellow lights.

Then I got 4 tickets within a year. And got nailed with weed in my car. And had my license suspended. My insurance is astro-fucking-nomical.

I just restarted smoking weed, and I NEVER drive baked anymore. Nor do I ever go more than a touch over the speed limit. And honestly, the idea of doing so doesn't even sound fun to me anymore. If I drove high, I'd be too paranoid about making a mistake and catching more trouble from the cops, which I cannot afford.

As for alcohol, I only really drink once a month or so on special occasions, and I'm almost always doing it at the place where I'm going to be sleeping. Either that or I'm barhopping in NYC, and am taking a train home.

it may be 'horseshit' in your experience, but that doesn't mean it's that way with other people...

Some studies have found moderate stimulate use to improve driving skills, including vigilance, reaction time, etc. You overshoot, though, and you're fucking all over the place, right? :)
Cannabis generally leaves reaction-time unscathed, but hinders vigilance.
...
I am of the opinion that there would need be established a level of cannabis, opioid, benzo, etc. intoxication analogous to the legal limit for alcohol.

ebola

ebola, now there's a measure I could wholeheartedly support, when the technology and laws evolve.
