I thought Thizz/hyphy culture was just happening in the Bay area, but it seems to be spreading. What I want to know is:

Do you Thizz or do you Roll?
Do you eat a pill or do you eat a bean?
East Coast, West Coast, Dirty South, or Midwest?
Are you over 20 years old or under 20 years old?

I'm trying to understand the stylistic differences that are emerging in hyphy culture. Is it a subset of general ecstasy culture? Is it is own thing? Is it fair to say that hyphy and thizz are the same scene?

What's the deal?

ive never heard that SF Bay E terminology in Chicago.

thiss thizzin ETC.

If if werent for the internet & rap i would have no idea what youre talking about.

kinda like the word " beans " in Florida. I dont know anywhere else they use the word beans for E pills

In Houston in my area they call hydrocodone pills beans.

We call ecstasy, exo's.

What the hell is this hyphy business?

Are you just making stuff up on a weekly basis?

This thread may help your quest.......... http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=314840

As for me, I ping, take pingers or go pinging.

I also get Monged and munted.

I am over 20 and come from the East coast. (although here in Australia we really dont regionalise stuff that much...........we are much more of a nation than what you dudes from the US appear to be and as such most of the language of the country is across the nation...........except silly melbourneites who buy potato cakes instead of scollops.

Watch this.

Hyphy is a contraction of the words Hyper and Fly, coined by the artist Keak Da Sneak from the Bay area. Hyphy is a subculture/movement of which dance is one of its main principles. Hyphy is a predominately black community, although you see white kids all over the place these days throwing T signs(T for Thizz) and throwing Thizz faces at each other.

Hyphy Dancing is somewhat reminiscent of the 90's liquid style.
Hyphy dance is also called TURF(Taking up Room on the Floor).

The reason why there can be said there's major differences in styles between the east and west coasts of the USA is because NYC and LA are both huge centers for media production, . NYC and LA have totally different environments and demographics and which result in different styles. Hip-hop culture particularly has perpetuated the East Coast/West Coast dialectic and fascination with each other. People in NYC and LA tend to forget the rest of the states because they're so caught up in their own dream worlds.
While the east coast was developing breaking and vogue, the west coast was doing clowning and crunk. Krump is a whole other story.

I thought it was interesting to ask people what they call it, because younger generations of ecstasy users seem to be identifying more with Hyphy rather than rave culture.

Also, there's been some violence associated with E-users in hyphy culture, presumably because they are getting rolls with more meth than MDMA.

in NY, we say girlfriend. I call my buddy up:

Me: Hey have you seen my ex?
Him: which one, Molly or Stacey?

what the hell. i've only recently heard of this. im from the midwest and we roll...

thizz aint a label thizz a movement the hottest camp in the bay and wees can prove it

Really though. Thizz or die man... that's how we do it.

Being a part of the hyphy movement doesn't necessarily mean you use ecstasy or any kind of drug though, although if you're thizzin in the bay you're definitely part of the hyphy movement. Or you just jock the lingo.

I typed out a long this about why I hate the hyphy movement and thiz, Then I deleted it because I don't want to spread hate.

But I get chills when I hear the word hyphy or thiz...Not the good chills
