its dance music at its lowest form....
 
evryone has the right to decide what is good and what is shit. Its a personal choice. I think most of its shit, with the exception of a few. But with that in mind, i think lots of tekkaz is shit as well , even tho i love it as a genre.
and there werent millions of Andy Warhols doin the same shit, its not a good comparison.
i think that rock music comparison was more valid...
with that said, nrg is big cus it appeals to the majority of the dance music population. And with any population, 90 percent of the people are idiots. ;) ofcourse im only joking... OR AM I (insert weird fuked up music)
 
NRG plz plz die... this horrific CHEESY musik, i beleive makes Electronic musik look bad.... plz plz die.... i can't see how people enjoy this terrible musik.... but another intresting this is.. what do people think of power trance... simular to NRG, but harder... i personally hate it.. but i am intrested to see what u's think..

oh shut the fuck up you bunch of arrogant cockspankers. the fact that you think your music tastes are more 'mature' simply because you think that progressive house or breaks or deep trance or whatever is more artistic or more 'real' doesnt make it the hard and fast truth. musical taste is a purely subjective thing. If there is any measure of what kind of music is more superior surely it must be what the unwashed masses find so great, the likes of nsync and britney spears? HA you scoff what a bunch of top 40 shit. Exactly, its 'top 40' for a reason.
maybe nrg is total cheese, so fuycking what, its gets people on the dance floor every time and it gets them going hard. Im not saying that nrg is better than any other kind of music, im saying that its just as valid a kind of music as any other (except country and western ;)
Dont complain about what gets played at raves, just dont go, take your fucking negativity elsewhere. there ar eclubs with all of your cultural artistic bullshit in them, go spend a night there wanking over how much better this music is than all that cheesy crap.

To the 1337 who love their "Non-NRG" and say that NRG sucks you may of course suck my cock. Simply because you like it doesn't make it better. I mean I could start a thread saying "Banging Tech Sux!!!", but I can't be fucked because that would not only make me stupid, but it would insult my embracing of diversity. I am proud to say that I can appreciate ALL dance music. From Happy Hardcore, to DnB, to Breaks, to FUCKING HANDBAG HOUSE!

What a more convienient thread to do this in:
well, back in September when i registered i had just bought the MOS hard NRG V2 album. well, i absolutly luved it then. I still like it, but yes, as most people here will agree, it' not hard to get sick of. But once in a while it's fun.
Now, NRG is definatelt NOT my all time fav genre, not in the least. In fact i'd easily put breaks, trance, teckers and progressive house ahead of NRG, especially in terms of "listening music". (even though breaks will get me dancing anytime!) NRG does get me dancing, and keeps me dancing. it's fully happy music, nuthin dark there... but it's repeditiveness can get tedious after a whole night out. OH, and never, NEVER NRG the day after, unless you're all still buzzing off those red bulls...
what i'm getting at, is i'm sick of people thinking i'm a NRG fan all the way, just becasue when i registered i was into it. (yeah, bad move on my behalf.) and when i meet BL's i haven't met before, i introduce myslef as Kirsty... then NRGirl (in a not so enthusiastic voice). well, if they're like you Stylin, their first impression of me is most likely "oh, so you're an NRG fan, huh?" kinda thing. yeah, well, i'm not going to bother explaining myslef everytime i meet a new BLer. If they choose to judge me, based on only a BL name, then do i really want to know them anyway?
SO... i'm gunna change my name on BL. and with more reasons than stated. i have been wanting to do so for a while now, but just cbf. So, in a way, i supose you have "killed" NRG!!!! (joking). but seriously, i'm happy to use my first name as my BL name. Then no one will judge me, as they have nothing to judge on... until they get to know me. what the fuck does taste in music have to do with someones personality? really?
So now, you won't be seeing NRGirl posting anymore. Just so you know, i'm using a different name. just not with NRG plastered across my forehead!
And for the record, i'm not going to name names, but some of you hear are very narrow minded. everyone has their own opinion, and to judge someone on their musical tastes, and not on their overall personality, just goes to show how simple your mind is. Your opinion is not the be-all-and-end-all of what is a "good" genre of music. if someone does like NRG, don't think they're a fuckwit E-tard for doing so.
Be more open-minded and accecpting, and maybe there will be more... *shudder* PLUR in this world.

my own musical tastes aside, youre doing a good job at showing yourself to be an arrogant and narrow minded fool, which in itself invalidates any opinion you may have about what music is good.
top 40 is mass produced because the masses buy it. Electronica in itself is a fairly niche market, because to the masses it is just 'repetative doof doof', they dont even know there are different sub-genre's. You might say NRG was the 'top 40' of electronica because for the moment at least it is the the most widely popular kind of electronica. It is 'popular' becase a large number of people think it is 'good'. I use quotes because all of these terms are relative.
The point is, it doesnt matter which people think it is good music, the average high school teenie boppers opinion is just as valid as your blanket an uninformed statements above, perhaps more so because alot of teenagers i know can come up with more justification for what theyre saying than 'its shit'.
myself, i dig NRG because it is by nature energetic. the hard pumping beats and high speed really get my adrenalin flowing and give me the urge to dance, jump and generally be excited about having good music to dance to at all. Sure, maybe it's 'cheesy' but alot of people i know who like other kinds of music still think that cheese is cool for the same reasons, you know the tunes and it gets you excited. Prime example: drum beats go.
Now, jizzbucket, lets see if you can come with some intelligent reasons as to why you think 'its shit' and 'because its repetative' doesnt count because so is all dance music.

FACT: Record labels make shit loads of money from pop music
FACT: all you need is the money and the promotion and a half decent voice and you can go far in POP music
FACT: alot of pop music is produced on scientiffically researched beats that people find catchy or easy to listen to.. hence most tracks have a very similar back and are produced in a similar formularic nature
here is where we delve into the neature of formula... a tried and proven way of making music... eg. same beats, different hook..
when it comes to pop... its this formularic nature that is just SHIT... whether it be in cruddy white boy rock, RnB and rap (the sped up stuff.. not the actual, the more catchier stuff with shit for lyrics and a catchy hook.. prime example that Jay-Z track..absolute shit for lyric "pickle off my ickle" what the fuck is that! with a catchy hook) if you listen to actual RnB edits of tracks even by destiny's child youll find alot more varied rhythm a slow tempo etc. then youve got your boy band/girl band stuff which is absolute fucking shit in my book (they use the engineered beats in like EVERY TRACK).. they are products of record labels, good looking guys and girls with an ok voice, marketed to the shit house to impressionable young teenagers (there is a very fucking good reason why adults dont listen to this shit... think about it matey). Singing about looking for love, partying on down, or how cool they are or ripping off other peoples songs (eg. blue and their rip off Next - 2 Close).
PoP is made for people to grow out of (im sure the record execs wouldnt want them to, but its nature forces people to want change etc. diversify their tastes)
to me pop is SHIT, I beleive my tastes to be superior etc.
so in that regards i guess it does make me arrogant... which i wont apologise for, because that would be going against what i beleive and think for the sake of someone calling me petty names...
so chin up sonny jim... you probably a bit cranky cause you've had a big weekend etc. so i wont take the namecalling to heart
but to call me misinformed is a big no no mate... cause seriously you have no idea whether i would be or not
