Akomplice,
With smoking, the onset is pretty rapid. You'll know in a matter of seconds if the hit you took will get/keep you high. You can adjust your dose pretty easily that way.
Rule of thumb for harm reduction is start small. Even though you have quite an OC tolerance, you're dealing with a different chemical and a different ROA.
I'd say just grab a bundle and start slow. No more than a point (.1 g) to start off. Since no one can tell you the quality of the junk or how your body will process and adapt to the drug, so it's going to take a little bit of trial and error until you find your target dose.
Good luck. While some may say that the only thing separating oxy and heroin is stigma, there's definitely a difference between pharms and junk. You'll never be the same again. Not trying to talk you out of it, you have your mind set. Just remember to start low and try to space out doses as long as humanly possible.
I really appreciate this right here ^^^. That's harm reduction. So thank you pmmcl. But...
I appreciate all the replies I've gotten, however a few things bother me.
High prices for oxy leaves its users with less of an opportunity to generate heavy habits. The low price of heroin facilitates heavier addictions.
Bullshit bro. High prices of oxy leaves it's users needing more money to feed their addiction than the average heroin addict. Price doesn't have anything to do with the heaviness of addictions. They just need more money to keep up.
That's a problem.
So now that a user switches from oxy to H (for money reasons), they start using more H, because it's so much cheaper than oxy that they can splurge
How do you figure? I guess that would make more sense if junkies had self controll. With a high oxy tolerance you don't just not buy what you need to get you off because it's too much money. You beg, borrow, steal or sell whatever you have to, to get what you need.
It's true infact that I COULD buy more heroin if I switch over, but it doesn't mean I'm gunna need more than I usually do just because I can.
They run into a problem when their H habit escalates to the cost of what oxy was thanks to tolerance.
So tolerance doesn't go up with oxy? or goes up faster with heroin?
Cause true maybe tolerace goes up and you're spending what you used to spend on Oxy, but guess what? If you hadn't have switched, you'd be paying double, tripple or even quadrouple(sp) what you used to pay. Because tolerance goes up with ANY opiate.
You act like with Oxy your tolerance doesn't go up? Because lemme just tell you it doesn't matter how expensive it is, when your tolerance goes up, you spend more. I went from being able to take a norco to taking/snorting 2-3 oxy 80's at a time. Then on top of that taking some percs or norcos to keep me where I want to be, everyday.
Now do you have any idea how much that costs?
I can't say but it's a shit load.
I still spend the money, and I already have a problem.
Some of you guys are acting like Oxy withdrawls aren't that bad. "Wait till you get sick from the dope".
How many of you heroin addicts get dope sick for more than 3 weeks?
Or more than 2 weeks even.
That's how it is with these pharms at the doses I'm dependent on.
On top of that, do you know how much healthier heroin is for your body than popping all these man made opiates? Nevermind the tylenol.
Most pill addicts hav no fucking clue what they're doing to their bodies, and most heroin addicts know exactly what they're doing to themselves.
The thing is, heroin deserves the stigma. It's an awful drug that ruins lives.
And pharm. opiates don't?
If you ask me, pharm opiates ruin more lives than heroin. Now before you jump on me for that comment, think about it.
How many heroin addicts started off popping a couple vicodin?
It usually starts there now a days. Most people don't just go from smoking weed to slamming dope.
We all know that there's a stigma to heroin as I mentioned in my previous post. The stigma is unfair in that heroin is seen as dirty, vile, used by the scum of the earth while oxy has little to no stigma associated with its use.
Ehh I wouldn't be too sure about that. There's a huge stigma associated with Oxy.
The news always calls it "Synthetic Heroin", which it's not. It's not even synthetic in the actual sense of synthetic opiates like methadone. It is semi-synthetic but it's not even semi-synthetic heroin.
But there's a huge stigma when it comes to Oxycodone. It's a lot harder to get than most drugs. Since it's so hard to get, it costs a lot more.
When an addict is desperate for a high and out of money, that's when things start getting really dark. You don't see it happen as much with Oxy for the simple reason of the H safety net, as I mentioned above.
I'm sorry but this paragraph pisses me off. Peoples lives get just as fucked up on Oxy as they do with heroin. It's not a competition. One isn't better or worse than the other.
That's like alcholics thinking they're better than coke addicts because their drug is legal. It's bullshit.
Many of the biggest pharms dealers in my area are grandparents looking to sell their pain meds for extra income. With H, you've got another set of folks entirely, none of whom is likely to invite you in for tea, if you catch my drift. I don't want to stereotype here, because there are hardass pharms pushers and kindhearted H dealers that exist, but on the whole you can almost guarantee someone pushing pharms is going to be less of a threat.
That's also a very ignorant statement. I met a 75 year old heroin dealer in rehab and she was the sweetest hispanic lady I've ever met. Maybe in your area that's how it is but it's ignorant to make a statement like that about the whole world cause it's bullshit.
In essence, oxycodone, oxymorphone, heroin -- they basically are the same. And addiction is an addiction. I think you assumed that I was saying that the addictions themselves are different, when really I was referring to what you may call the conditions of addiction, or the culture surrounding the addiction.
The conditions are the same. All I'm gunna say.
Thanks for your reply, I just don't agree with some of the stuff you said.
Peace,
