Congratulations on having a month of clean time by the way! :)

I said the very exact thing as you before I got hooked on IVing heroin.
It slowly ruined my entire life.
Once you experience heaven, earth suddenly feels like hell.
It's no fun. Most days I just wish I was dead.
I wish this upon no one.
I get how you feel. When I was back where you are right now I thought I was invincible. That I wouldn't become an addict, that I would limit myself.
I guess things never ended up like that.
I know you're most likely going to try it once in your life, I just wish you the best and pray that you have the power to overcome it.

now i cant even look at my arms without the thought of sticking a needle in all those nice big blue veins.......

seriously... my brother and his friends all work out, and with muscular arms comes lots of big visible vains running all through their arms. i catch myself admirring their vains, not being able to think about anything besides sticking needles in em... im seriously addicted to just shooting up, even if its not dope. now im currious what else i can shoot up

I used to shoot tar for like 3 months, every other day. I never got THAT bad in comparison to some of the people I was hanging out with but it still was enough for my parents to send me to treatment.

Yeah opiates in general are a problem for me, but IVing is the real killer. I honestly wish I never did it. You can't even forget it, there's something special going on there. Like- MDMA feels WAY better in my opinion but for some reason my brain prefers the IV rush...reward systems are a bitch man. Tells you brain "good job!" when you're pulling the trigger.

I guess I'm in the 'honeymoon period' of IV'ing right now. I shoot roxy 30's, and it is really enjoyable. The rush is fantastic, and the whole process of injecting myself is interesting and fun. I'm pretty strapped for cash right now, so I won't be getting out of hand with an addiction, but I'll buy like 15 roxies and shoot them up in 3 days, then gatta wait another week or so till I have enough money to buy more.

It got to the point where no matter how many 30's I would snort I wouldn't even get that great of a buzz, and it was getting so expensive that my only option was to start slamming them. Personally, I am happy with my decision to begin slamming my roxies, and I am starting to get pretty good at it; I hit veins right away, and I've only ever missed part of one 60mg shot which caused alittle bit of swelling but no big deal really. I use 1cc 30 gauge syringes with 5/16'' tip.

Obviously I won't keep this up forever. I see myself doing this for maybe a few more months, but I will be starting school again soon and will have to quit in order to have money to support myself. I'll probably stop with the opiates and just stick with smoking pot (I've quit pot as of now so I have more money for roxies.)

Overall, I don't see all that much danger in IV'ing, but obviously the dangers ARE there, so I won't be doing this forever. The only negative side effect ATM is that I itch a whole lot more, lol.

So, to the OP...

Did you try it? Has your mind been swayed one way or the other? Are you doing okay? Just wondering about a followup.

Trust me, your better off not knowing what that rush feels like. I would give anything to be able to forget it, buts the only thing i ever think about, even after i was clean 3 months, i was still thinking about it constantly. It's not worth the risk of what it could lead to. Addction is absolute hell, nothing is worth it.

Honestly, I love an opiate rush as much as the next girl (she says, with a lovely melting oxy under her tongue), but the occasional ER-given Dilaudid IV is enough for me. Just knowing that every so often (even if it's once every 3 years) I will get to experience that is enough for me NOT to ever try IVing at home. If it's the truth that you just want to know what it is like, once, then get yourself a shot of Dilaudid at the ER. I'm, er, "lucky" in that I have a nerve disease that is well-know to be THE most painful condition in medical literature, and it flares up every 18 months or so (as I age, the flares will be more intense and come closer together). When I'm in a full-on, screaming like a wounded animal, psychotic with pain flare, I don't enjoy the Dilaudid because A) it doesn't effing HELP and B) they have to give me so much that I'm at constant risk of stopping breathing (per ER staff) and that's just not fun. However, when I'm having a moderate flare-up, and I get a shot of Dilaudid...well, there is nothing in the entire world like it. Know what's even better? Being ever so slightly-to-moderately dope sick and getting an IV of Dilaudid. Oh Jesus...

For me, I can FEEL it moving through my veins, touching and lighting up and bathing every single cell in euphoria the intensity of which I cannot describe, but continue to try. That feeling....as it washes through your veins and makes every microscopic fiber of your body and soul feel on fire with joy and warmth and safety and sex and music and ocean-swimming and youth and running fast and your first GOOD kiss and eating buttery crab legs barefoot with your lover on the beach and lullabies and peonies and....it's just gooood. Or God.

But then you come home from the hospital and you know you must never ever EVER do that at home, to yourself, because if you DO, you will never again experience sex and music and ocean-swimming and youth and running fast and your first GOOD kiss and eating buttery crab legs barefoot with your lover on the beach and lullabies and peonies again, because instead, 10 years later, you will find yourself having replaced all of that with opiates. And then it's 10 years gone and it's too late to have kids and yeah, you're OK superficially, everyone thinks you are OK, but you don't seek out those REAL pleasure anymore because what's in the pill or the needle is easier and it's enough. But it's fucking NOT enough. And you gave up having kids. And you look around you and realize that, since you don't have kids, all you REALLY have to look forward to now is a slow decline. No one you love is on the way UP, everyone is on the way DOWN. Getting older, getting sicker, no milestones anymore, all the weddings and baby showers are over and all your fucking friends talk about is their kids and you can't exactly say "my oxycontin said 'i love you' for the first time today!" so yeah, I would think twice about IVing your drugs. Eventually, you'll break a bone or get appendicitis or your gall bladder will blow up and you'll get a needle full of Dilaudid in the ER and you'll know what it's all about. Meanwhile, you are 25 and have every choice in the world in front of you. Ten years slips by fucking FAST.

These were some of the most powerful paragraphs I have ever read here on BL. As a woman who loves her opiates too much, it brought tears to my eyes and I hope the OP read it and felt something similar. Maybe its my age.....dunno but really hit home. All the best to you ghost.....

Its up to you if you are gonna try it to try it once then put down the point good luck! I would describe this to anyone to picture the buzz to be 4 times as strong per mg and the euphoria is way better it just makes you think of what more mg's may feel like then comes the missing the shot when you miss the vein and having to buy new needles or get new ones (needle exchange) but you will end up hooked and your daily activities will be inside your bathroom vein searching and you will lose friends and the scars arent gonna be a fun one to explain to family and loved ones.....I do it but think twice before you do it, i tell people once you start good luck going back!....also i thought i should mention after reading the above post on dalaudid ive had that in the er too and i think thats what gave me the idea to do it at home although the er's amount they give me wont do shit to me now. I can whip up 300mg or more of oxy in a 1cc rig and not even get off so if you want a stupid tolerance or t onot ever enjoy your opiods again stand clear of iv'ing

I want to experience the rush before I die too, but I'm just gonna wait til I'm 60 yrs old in the nursing home (if I can still find opiates there). The way I see it, railing opiates is addictive enough, and pretty much EVERYone who I've talked to whose shot up regrets it, saying they just can't go back to railing knowing how good shooting is. I'd really think this decision through, it might be the start of a long shitty road you don't really want to go down.

I'm the elusive one-time shooter. I shot 60mg of oxycodone, knowing I was going for a world of trouble, but I just didn't really like it. Thankfully. My nasal or oral dose was normally 90mg at this time. Of course a veteran helped me through it. I guess I was expecting a rush like dilaudid (had in the hospital a few times), but it was nothing like that. It was like I snorted them or whatever, but I guess since I didn't do my "ritual", it felt kinda hollow. I am lucky, cause most people *love* it. But I thought the myth outweighed the reality...

However, although I only do oxy about 5-6 times a month now, I obsess over it by doing things like reading threads like this, and planning when I'll do it next, etc. Sure, I don't have a physical addiction, and that's a GREAT thing, but it still runs my life, pretty much.

That's really similar to my relationship with oxy. I'll do it maybe 1-2 times a week, but I think about it EVERY DAY. I love the shit out of it, even though I know its destructive.

A lot of good advice and knowledge posted in this thread! However I think it has pretty much run its course. I'm going to go ahead and close it up, feel free to PM me if you have a problem with this OP.
