I think I kinda want an iphone. I'm never going to get one, but still it would be fun for a while.
^Right up until you tried to send an MMS and realised you can't. Wait for the next model. TRUST me.

I want a big, square, bright red painting to put above my bookshelf (samadhi - it's by the guy who did your b'day ones!)

And, all going to plan, I should get a bonus in my pay tomorrow which allows me to buy the painting on the weekend, wee!!

I LOVE my birthday presents, and can't wait to see your new one (did you end up purchasing??)

I love mah jong! You would probably kick my ass though cos I have a short attention span.

Yeah I read today that it has a 2 megapixel camera. What the hell!? With all those awesome other features they give it one of the shittest quality phone cameras going around at the moment. Makes no sense. Not that I ever really send mmses. But I do get lazy when I go out and just use the camera in my phone to take pictures. It comes in handy when you've got a relatively good one.

You can send MMS on the iPhone using an app ... it's just not built into the iPhone's OS which is kinda odd.

What's interesting is the pictures you snap on the iPhone can have its location's GPS tagged. Never lose your car in the lot again!

The app is called "Snapture" i think.

my partner has had an iphone for about 2 months now. i dont think they are all that great. definately not worth camping outside a store for!!!!

The iPhone sucks. What's the big deal?

Also today it affronted me personally. I got my new phone today and it took like an hour for my credit rating to be approved because Vodafone's whole system was tied up with everyone in the world trying to get Apple's latest piece of shit.

I had to hang out in a FUCKING SHOPPING CENTRE!

Every night I dream about owning this camera! (Sony DSCH50)

Feel free to suggest better models for about the same price, as both my partner and I are pretty novice in this field.

I would also like one of these, a Bengal kitty! :

And one of these, a German Shephard Dog:

And one of these, a Great Dane pup

Etc etc, a bull terrier, at any age

This list would go on...and on and on and on....and on....

Er, OK.
Elaborate.

Feature wise, it's no better than any other of the higher end phones out at the moment, and it only has a crap 2MP camera. It's got a touch screen? Who fucking cares. I just don't see what all the hype is about. Maybe it was just marketed well, but why are people camping out for the frigging things?

2MP camera is plenty - its the lens quality that actually makes the difference

Maybe you should try the touch screen? The interface design and aesthetics are a remarkable achievement

Feature-wise (touch screen, gps, camera/video, storage size, mp3 player, movie player, web browser, wireless, gaming machine) coupled with Apple quality the phone is a bargain.

I'll probably get one when i need a new phone, not before

Well my N95 8GB has all the same shit and a little more. Minus the touchscreen. As far as gaming goes it also has the advantage of the new format of the N-Gage.

I will admit that I have an anti-apple bias however.

And of course the fact that I had to wait 3 hours for a credit check to be done on Saturday because every git in the country was trying to get one colours my opinion too :)

I think the iPhone is cool. Non-Mac users never get it. A Powerbook is just a notebook like the Vaio, it's the OS that makes all the difference.

And the iPhone as a platform for app development and media streaming and location-sensitive data is even cooler.

And by virtue of its market saturation, you'll just see more and more apps and stuff you can do with the iPhone compared to another piece of hardware.

What ISN'T cool though, is the shitty GPRS plans and lousy broadband available in Australia. So if the plans and broadband infrastructure remains crap, all the cool things about the iPhone or any net based device becomes moot.

I was walking up Clarence Street on Saturday and seen a metric fuckload of people standing on the side of the street. I thought I had encountered some pilgrims in search of repressive enlightenment.

Once I got closer and realised everyone was squatting out front of the Mac store I realised I was encountering tech pilgrims seeking enlightenment of the 3G kind.

It would have taken me forever to get inside so I didn't bother lining up (especially since I wasn't going to make a purchase) but the Mac Store is one impressive looking consumer Mecca.

I also dig the iPhone and the tech drawbacks don’t bug me so much as I don’t really seek convergence that includes photography; I'd rather use digital SLR for that

Forgot to add ... Apple released a remote app to run on the iPhone so you can use it to remotely browse all the media that's on your desktop's iTunes. iPhone displays a similar graphical interface as that of iTunes.

So if you have remote speakers at home, you can now control your music from anywhere. Really like that idea. =D
