What I ended up doing was breaking it up into smaller pieces onto an oven tray, then placed it in the oven on the lowest setting (just enough for the fan to kick in), with the door slightly ajar, and left for about ten minutes. Then turned the oven off and shut the door with the weed still inside. I did this again the next day and by the third day, it was smokable.
Smoked just fine.
It wasn't even any harsher, but there was a noticeable lack of taste and smell - which is fine by me as I don't give a shit what weed tastes and smells like.
In fact, I've often wondered if it's possible to breed a strain that doesn't stink the whole neighbourhood out. Even though I personally love the smell of weed, it's a bit of a dead giveaway...
