Anyone watch the following]? Halfway through the first episode and it looks alright so far, and i have a shite attention span. Also i'm not a huge anime fan but i downloaded and watched death note last month out of boredom which was ace

yeah. when I read about it before I saw the first episode last week, I was well up for it. decent premise, love Kevin Bacon. definitely saw the potential

Watched the 1st episode last week, and was really disappointed. Script was absolutely dismal. Kevin even looked wooden as fuck, but with shite lines to deliver it's not surprising. Considering it's only 45 minutes runtime, they blundered through a storyline which should've lasted much longer by skirting over important central plot details in the blink of an eye. The detail of the whole show was ridiculously patchy and lacking anything remotely resembling insight into the key character, or details of the nature of the serial killers MO and crimes. I can't ever remember watching a show so badly scripted before. Some really amateur embarrassing lines.

I'll give it another go tho, and will stick with it for a few more episodes in case it improves

The Following ... for anyone interested.

"The Following" -- The FBI estimates there are currently over 300 active serial killers in the United States. What would happen if these killers had a way of communicating and connecting with each other? What if they were able to work together and form alliances across the country? What if one brilliant psychotic serial killer was able to bring them all together and activate a following?

When serial killer Joe Carroll escapes from death row, the FBI calls on Ryan Hardy, the former agent who put him behind bars nine years earlier. While the team starts out thinking of Hardy as a liability, he proves his worth when he figures out that Carroll had been communicating with a network of killers while he was in prison and that they were planning more than just his escape. When Carroll's intended last victim from before his incarceration is kidnapped, it becomes clear that the psychopath means to finish what he started.

Welcome to The Following, the psychological thriller from creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson ("The Vampire Diaries," "Dawson's Creek," the "Scream" franchise) and starring Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Kevin Bacon in his primetime series debut.

Really belongs in the Documentary thread but this one is nearer and am feeling lazy tonight... Just watched Drugs, Inc: Zombie Island. Wouldn't usually bother mentioning these cos they usually ain't that great but this one is fukkin brutal. Not seen owt like it since that Vice Krokodil one really. I thought I'd had abcesses. Oh no I haven't. State of some of these poor fucks is beyond imagination :(

The other point of interest is a drug apparently unique to the island (Puerto Rico) - Xylazine. Almost looks like fun but fuck getting in a state like that whilst trying to beg money in traffic 8o

The 3rd episode of 'Utopia' has just started on Ch4.
Quadrophenia is on ITV4 at 11pm tonight.

I'm glad I'm not the only wrong'un to think Xylazine looked like it could be fun.

Yeah, there's only ever been one episode of Derek. It was alright. I'll definitely record it. I love Karl, and Ricky has really grown on me. I used to hate him, but he honestly doesn't give a fuck, and I like that.

The Ricky Gervais show and An Idiot Abroad are brilliant - both because of Karl, but Ricky and Stephen Merchant lead him where they know he'll come out with the best lines. Good stoner TV (you could argue anything is good while stoned, but I disagree).

I love Ricky and Karl but, I dunno, Derek just didn't seem to be the same standard as their other stuff. Hopefully the series will improve on the pilot.

On the subject of Ricky G, I'm really hoping for a second series of the Warwick Davis sitcom, Life's too Short.
