Fuck! I hate that shit. Why can't they just show a full series like they used to? They do the same with South Park now as well, it's annoying as fuck.
I heard it's because the director is ridiculously obsessive, which in turn is why it's such a good show. It takes him and his team weeks just to write one episode where most people think absolutely nothing has happened, but you get through 5 episodes and all of a sudden everythings changed. He also insists on filming scenes over and over and over again. For instance they filmed that infamous "box cutter" scene 26 times from one angle, and that's excluding all the other angles they filmed it from too. It does my nut in too, but I think it's worth it to see this finished properly, because I don't think any tv show is ever going to match the quality of this. I find it difficult to find any faults other than the fact that Jessie is predictable, in that he will always say 'bitch', but then that's just realism in itself...
South Park seasons are split into two because of the way they choose to make it. Partly so they can keep upto date with current affairs, partly because matt and trey behave like most people would with deadlines. They generally make each episode within one week, and that's why one week you could piss your pants, and the next week they might be having an off week and it will suck. The first seasons of SP were smaller, and better, and each episode took them months to write, voice and animate, so I think they should go back to that. They are stuck at the moment though, and they've said as much. Comedy central will keep resigning them and paying them millions of dollars, but they are sick of the project and want to do other shit like the broadway show they did. It's a tough one. I wouldn't turn down the money, but I wouldn't be happy about ruining the integrity of my show and by extension myself for it either. But then again millions and millions of dollars is certainly a good panacea.
Yeah I was going to wait but googled it and loads of good HD links came up instantley so gave it a shot, going to be annoying waiting a week per episode now though. They are doing 8 this year and 8 next year.
I am really torn. If I watch it week by week, I spend almost the entire week thinking about the last week and what's going to happen next week, and they never give me the fix I need. If I can just show the tinniest amount of willpower and wait until I have 8 episodes to watch in a row I think it could be more satisfying. I also have a strong suspicion some cunt is going to post spoilers like mad if something wicked happens like it did last season...
