Been looking forward to this since I saw the ads. I've not been disappointed.
So real and gritty, so well shot, really good and believable characters. As real as a fictitious story can be.

Frozen Planet is utterly beautiful... Awe-inspiring stuff.

I caught tonight's episode of Brave New World With Stephen Hawking - Really enjoyed it so will be catching the previous ones on 4OD.

like a British "The Wire"
Aye yer fairly spot on with that yerself :)
Hopefully it will be more than just the announced 4 episodes because it could turn out to be something fairly epic.
Perhaps this be just a tester? Seemingly good UK dramas don't get as much of a life-span compared to their rivals over the pond ay? :\

But yea - It was fucking quality ;) And I shall eagerly await the next episode tomorrow.

Gonna download that now, these british urban dramas are normally a total cringe fest but I will give it a chance.

I definitely enjoyed Top Boy last night... It made up for what had to be the worst Walking Dead episode yet. They are clearly trying to develop the characters, but it isn't working for shit. Dexter is alright, but I am never on the edge of my seat anymore. I mean we're 4 episodes in and not once have I thought 'O FUCK O FUCK DEXTERS DONE THIS TIME'.

O, and I thought i'd hate the new Misfits cus the Irish one is gone, but if anything it is better. This new character has taken all the good parts of the Irish one without any of the rubbish parts.

The soundtrack is amazing on it IMO, I'm so glad they didn't fill it with cheesy grime tunes at every opportunity.

Spot on mate , like a British The wire, anything with Noel Clarke ,Asher D & scorcher is goin to be true life.

Haha this is exactly how I described it to my mate on FB, like a UK version of The Wire. It is really good pity there's only one more episode to go. The bit with that wee boys dog last night was brutal though.

By the sounds of it I need to watch The League aswell, going to def try that out sounds up my street. I love stuff like the Roast of Charlie Sheen etc.

Also I'll probably give the new David Attenborough a watch.

For me Family Guy, American Dad are just not funny anymore. Maybe if I was with my mates and still feeling ridiculous on the comedown/next effect of something, or stoned. South Park still pulls it off but I don't go out my way to watch it anymore.

Top Boy is good but folk need to calm down with this "British Wire" chat. I've seen that shout a few times now. Top Boy is not like a British version of The Wire. Not at all. It is quality though.

I think its definitely taking a few tips from The Wire... but why wouldn't you when it set the standard for everything else to come. Good show by the way.

If anyone missed The Take a year or two back.. its worth a watch.

Brian Eno did the original soundtrack. The first episode there was something familiar so I watched the credits and as soon as his name popped up everything made sound-sense.

Just watched the 3rd episode of Top Boy. Sorry to keep banging the same drum but where is the comparison to The Wire? Can someone explain it? Other than it is a good show about drug dealers. Have people just read that The Wire is good, realistic & about ghetto drug dealing & put 2+2 together? Because if you've watched The Wire you will see that it is nothing like Top Boy. Where's the other side of the story? (ie, the main thing about The Wire - both points of view, cops & dealers, then later media, politicians, schools etc). Top Boy is simply about dealers on an estate & the fall out for the people surrounding them.

Edit - What the fuck is the wee girl saying when she talks about guys muff-diving? Sounds like Bergkamp to me haha. I really hope that's what it is, tremendous patter even though I don't understand it. "Did you Bergkamp that bird last night mate?"
