she's the kind of person who would do an investigative programme about drugs and still come away from it thinking you can inject marijuana

I am enjoying continuum quite a lot actually. Canadian Sci-fi. Series 2 has just finished. I'm addicted anyway.

"A detective from the year 2077 finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver and searching for ruthless criminals from the future."

Someones review:

A lot of reviews here have argued that Continuum show advances a pro- corporate, anti-democracy viewpoint. It doesn't, but you could be forgiven for thinking that. Most American shows have a clear good guy (the protagonist) and a clear bad guy (the antagonists).

This show, however, follows the Canadian tendency to operate in shades of grey. Continuum presents two opposing factions, and asks the viewer to make up their own mind whether they agree with the protagonist or the antagonists.

I'm not speaking from my own interpretation, but the official stance of the people behind the show. The "choose your side" mentality has been presented repeatedly in an explicit manner, most recently on the Continuum Facebook page, where a post recently asked, "Which side are you on? Team Kiera or Team Liber8?"

The show doesn't choose a side, but instead presents an interesting challenge to viewers which some won't be ready to meet:

The Freedom Fighters (antagonists) use brutal methods to accomplish their goals, but their cause is just.

The protagonist character Kiera operates within the law, uses non- lethal force, does what she thinks is right, and tries to protect people... And yet she champions the cause of despots.

Do you believe in the righteous champion of despotism, or the brutal champions of freedom? ...Or do you side with neither?

^ It was a decent season finale I thought. I posted a few days ago that it could be a total game changer if they wanted to take a different path with it, or use a whole new set of characters.

Decent documentary on John Cooper Clarke ... 20 minutes in on BBC4 atm

With his punk-flavoured verse delivered in a Salford lilt and his Bob Dylan-on-speed looks, John Cooper Clarke remains resolutely outside mainstream entertainment. Here’s a celebration of an outsider whose work sums up an era yet remains as sharply entertaining as ever. From Bill Bailey to Plan B, Steve Coogan to Kate Nash, there’s a long queue of admirers. Let’s hope there’s plenty of in-yer-face declamatory Clarke, too.

About this programme
A celebration of the Salford punk poet's life and work, with contributions from Bill Bailey, Plan B, Steve Coogan, Kate Nash, Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, Miranda Sawyer and Paul Morley. The programme explores the contributions he has made to poetry, comedy and music, and how he has remained a significant influence on popular culture for four decades.

It's sad to say, but I am currently hooked on Catfish: The TV Show at the moment.. It's one of those laughing at stupid people type things..

Love Catfish as well sure I mentioned it either here or in gibberings

Used to love waking up and doing a bonghit and watching it 11am on MTV

Not seen any of the 2nd season yet, just about to watch the "reunion" show for season 1

^why does his mate film him on a small camera when they also have a full film crew??

This show is worse than big brother. Even I won't watch Catfish.

The difference is it knows it has a limited shelf life.

With google image searches & skype etc . Its very unlikely that they will have enough material for many of these " Catfish" romances to make a 3trd season.

Even the 2nd season looked dated now as it was filmed in 2011 IIRC.
The really sad thing is that people like yourself are watching Big Brother when everyone knows what the premise is, its now about 13 years old and yet you still watch it?

That's much sadder than Catfish which only ran for twenty 40 minute episodes

I watched the BB with Pete tourrettes guy, imogen humuna humuna thomas, welshman glyn and tantrum tit nikki. That was good iirc, not watched one since.

Actually, I watched that one too. Twas quite good. I like people watching, hence me liking bb in moderation.

It just soooo uncool to like bb, fuck that attitude from some of you tv snobs.

A great film on tonight for anyone who hasn't seen it or just enjoy it again like me.
Film 4 at 22.50 tonight is showing 'Machete' starring Danny Trejo.
Well worth watching.
