Hmn, david attenborough ain't brainless. Lots of tv is decent and worth watching.

Last episode of the latest series of Luther is on in an hr.

I loved the first ep, but this latest series has gotten progressively worse with each ep imo. Before that I thought it had been pretty sterling all round. Hope tonights ain't a stinker.
 
I'm sure anybody who is likely to want to watch it did so already but seeing as it was actually the last thing I watched today... Last episode of Rick Stein's India was wot I dun did watch this very morn wiv brekky. Was a good series. Horribly over-romanticised but quite like his lil travelogues and recipes looked lushy for the most part.

Started watching Treme last night too. Only watched first two episodes so far and sod all has happened but liking the smell of it thus far. Very atmospheric so it is.
 
@ Shammy: I just powered thru all eps of Treme a few weeks ago based on the recommendations from this thread. I loved it. Its very unique in terms of directorial style and narrative. Its very un dramatic, if that makes sense. No episode ends on a cliffhanger and the scenes just drift into one another and often don't really have a huge narrative point to them. I loved it for those reasons tho.

Plus the cast is fucking top notch and the music is superb.
 
Is the impression I got, Mz Marmz. I know exactly what you mean by being un-dramatic (assuming the rest goes on as it starts). Almost literally nothing has happened in the first 2.5h of it. But it has been an enjoyable 2.5h all the same. Lotsa music, lotsa interesting visual stuffs, lotsa characters... who don't seem to do very much but are good to watch all the same. Is the impression I got from the first two and am actually kinda surprised it stays that way. Rather impressed TV execs would allow a show like that to stay that way. But it obviously works. Suspect I'll be watching another two or three tonight. Probably right about now or so actually.
 
Really glad you guys like Treme. I'm waiting for the blu ray release before I watch the third season. I got the first season as blu ray rips and the second season as hd tv rips and the first season sounded amazing. So much better than the telly rips. So I'm going to wait till September.

Game of Thrones. I think my only comment on this has been "load of shite" or something.

Okay, I take it back. I'm now up-to-date with it and I have to say it's not all that bad really.

Completely failed to properly watch Bjork meets Attenborough or whatever last night, so that's one for the list. And got Four in a Bed coming up as soon as Jamie Oliver fucks off.

Agree about brainless TV though.

edit: in that it's a good thing, just need it some mornings when you can't quite move. I watched Countryfile earlier to calm myself down. Had Matt from Blue Peter presenting. Surprisingly, he's not a massive bender. I looked it up and everything.
 
I love that even the most informative tv is still brainless in that it's totally passive imo. Great stuff

Yeah, I got a bit of a thing for putting documentaries on in the background and whatnot, just as nice background imagery/sound...ery.

And Dexter is fucking fantastic, got really into it in my first year of uni and was a bit blown away when I heard the theme tune on some show from the sixties recently. Well not the exact same one but was defo an influence. Need to watch the most recent season.
