The What's Good on European TV Thread Vs. What's Knock to Watch??

Watched the seventh season recently. Was good. Impressive they've managed to keep the quality so high for so long. Don't recall there being a duff season yet.

Unlike Fringe which I'm still slogging my way through. Just started the fifth season and thank fuck it's only thirteen episodes this time. Twenty four is just way too many. Especially when at least two of the first four seasons are mostly pretty dire. First and fourth were pretty good though. Will no doubt watch 'em all but is more out of sheer bloody-mindedness than strong desire.

NSFW for Dexter spoiler:

Yeah, I was skeptical of how good the show would stay once Deb found out about everything but I still enjoy it as much as before. Can't wait to see how the whole LaGuerta thing resolves itself. Also part of me kind of wants Dexter to get killed off at the end of this season, I don't think it could really end in any other way :?

Fringe is brutal. I've still not watched the final two episodes & probably never will, that's how fucking sick of it I was while trying to watch the final season - got to not even 2 hours of it left to go & I just thought fuck this, I really don't care what happens!

^ Hahahahahahaahahaa! I can quite believe that actually :D

Very nearly fukked it off several times during the second and third season. Just when I was ready to give in they'd pull a decent episode out and keep me ticking over though. Is probably as shallow as the fact that it's riddled with drug references. Even though they are stooopid. There's not many other shows were main characters are regularly shot up with acid and ketamine by a bloke who supposedly wanders round in a haze of phenazepam and bongsmoke :D

Pagey: It defintely needs a good ending but not sure I'd necessarily say it has to go the way you suggest. Given the freakiness of the American obsession with "morality" (or rather the TV-approved version thereof) it'll be interesting to see what they do with Dexter himself. I don't think it'll go the way you suggest though.

Yeah its so good, athought season 6 was a bit lacking compared to the rest

^ Wasn't convinced about that series til I saw that sketch. Is worth watching even if that's as good as it ever gets cos that sketch is just perfect <3

Not seen the last coupla episodes yet though.

Just started watching Season 1 of The Wire. Can't say the first few episodes are any good. But it's developing slowly..

Stick with it. You will not be disappointed. Pure genius so it is <3

To be honest I can't really remember each season specifically. Watched the first one when it was on telly but never saw the rest until I d/l the lot a few months back and binged on all six of 'em back to back.

It's not all brilliant but generally does make me laugh. His Paul Hamilton the poet character has me in stitches.
