Anyon seen "The Tudors" ? just noticed it on netflix, looks like it has a good rating

Cornishman a couple of hours would have now passed, you need to update your post. The mods will go spare. <3 What have I watched on telly? Hmmm...ok I'll tell you what I didn't watch today and that was the first F1 race of the season. That was because it doesn't start for a bit yet but I had this weird feeling about lunchtime that I should be watching the F1. It had that Sunday afternoon feel to it you know? But it a sign that the season is nearly upon us race fans. Lewis is tearing up the practice track. I did not expect that at all. I was completely on the side of him have made a terrible mistake in leaving Mclaren which lets face is was HIS team. But I forgot to factor in the genius engineering skill of that man Ross Braun (sorry for spelling Ross) Guy made the no hope no team Jenson 'chizel chin' Button a world champion in what five races. I'm a twat for not realising that.

THis w/e it was Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe as the Detectives in Law & Order Criminal Intent .

Also as a bonus they had Neal McDonough of Desperate Housewives ;) fame as the bad guy & Jay . O Sanders as well.

It's on Channel 5 player thingy go watch .:)

Robson Greene's Extreme fishing startine now on channel5....he's in Mozambique this week =D

Apparently the fishing there is so god because of pirate! (s) , international fshing vessels are afraid to enter the surrounding waters, so the sea is full of well posh fish.

Did anyone catch the final episode of Derek tonight?
I don't care if it got slated, I enjoyed it the entire a series because I may have been near one of those old folk homes so could related.

Anyway the entire series hasn't been anywhere near laugh out loud funny but had a nice solid message running through the whole thing. Until tonight.

Ricky Gervais has a talent of wrapping things up spectacularly and tonight he was certainly on form. All the big guns came out. It was extreme highs (proper laughs) and extreme lows. The ending section just before the credits roll had me in bits, proper floods, it was soul destroying, credits roll. WAIT! Little sign off bit. Oh fuck yes! Elation. That Ricky Gervais has got that down. Brilliant.

EDIT: Thanks Knock sorry if anybody saw that and it ruined it, I apologise and will attempt to not do that again if future, wish me luck!

I skimmed the post about Derek. It seems to have spoilt it, a little. I've not yet seen it. Why don't people use NSFW tags for spoilers. It should be in the title.

It was another great episode, loved it.
I think because it's Ricky Gervais people expected it to be a comedy and even though it is funny in places it is so much more than that.
I must admit I had a few tears in my eyes while watching it.
Good news is that they have already been given the go ahead to make a second series.

Wow I can't believe this is getting such an overwhelmingly good response. Why did I think the general population hated this? Not sure now.

I haven't had any laugh out loud really funny moments throughout the entire series. Until last night, I think because you made to feel shit as an overtone the laughs came out because you were glad to not feel shit for that brief moment.

I'm not sold on a new series esp. when it was wrapped up so superbly. Ricky has a habit of getting out when it's good and feel if he left it at that it would be nigh on perfect. Can't see how it can be bettered using the same format/characters etc.

I let out an almighty guffaw right at the very end of ep 4 or 5,
NSFW:
when she'd just been talking to the camera and lamenting about the school days she'd had with the snobby friend who'd just brought her mum in to be cared for. That last line she came out with, 'she always was a cunt!' was just so unexpected but so utterly fucking perfect

[edit]
Last time I saw Ricky being interviewed, can't remember where it was, but he said he was definitely doing a 2nd series and really wanted to do it, even if CH4 didn't want one

ha ha, yes I had a similar response to that, forgotten so quick about that little bomb.

Here was one of mine.

NSFW:
They were being asked what the secret to life was and after some life affirming stuff the pervy, lazy bloke (sorry can't remember characters names) just goes 'muff' was obvious he would say that, but like you say was dropped at just the right moment to slightly catch me off guard. Timing is genius.

...and then

NSFW:
When Derek turns the camera and goes 'I've got a Dad' fucking blew me away after an emotional episode as it was. Perfect moment in time. <3

I do hope Ricky get's the second series right but cannot doubt he will based on his previous form.

Of course he will. He'll pull this off as well as he does with everything else. I never watched the Office, didn't even like the guy, until I started watching The Ricky Gervais Show. Watched some of his live shows, also (Animals and Science, I believe). Love him now. An Idiot Abroad is brilliant, and Ricky, Steve and Karl are a funny group of people.

We went to see him for one of those, the one where he comes out dressed as a king.

Was funny in a way the TV cameras don't seem to be able to pick up.

I didn't get Karl at all until Derek. Thought he was obviously a fraud. He played that character like he was him. A close candidate for star of the show.
