But is time real..?
IMO...?
No: It is a construct of the human species only.
Your post is the first I read today on bl and to me it is a very good start to the day of international communication/engagement.
Bro it makes me enjoy life a little more knowing there are others who still have common sense vs. madness and mayhem which seems to be the order of the day.

My bad OT:
Frozen, breezy and snowy... but sol is out and this is great for my stability if that is possible. 😹

Best to all you mfs.

Of course, time is real. Space time continuum.
Roasters make noise at dawn. The day and night decrease and increase depending on the time of year.

Just like most animals have a mating season.

Don't forget to get your Electrum 1's, spayed or neutered.

I think time is real but a very squirrely concept. The stars we see are years, decades, even billions of years in our past.

If beings in the vicinity of those stars had powerful enough telescopes, they would see nothing but bacteria living on this planet… yet, at both ends, we are experiencing “now”.

Everything we experience - see, hear, taste, smell, feel - happened fractions (sometimes significant fragments) of seconds ago. Yet we experience it all at the same moment due to brain wizardry.

Travel just below the speed of light and time slows to treacle. You also become significantly flatter - actually physically flattened. But only people looking in from outside would notice.

Time is deeply, deeply weird.

Since an Ocean separates us bro.lol
Time is merely a measurement of existence.

Past, Present and future. A measurement. A way for humans to quantify and even use it for science, history, poly sci, industry, ($,£,€,¥,₩.ect per hour), life stages and our fundamental understanding of reality.

second(s), minute(s) Hours (s) days(s) ect.... many times more, a lot.
The seasons in many parts of the world.
Crops, animals, our very existence is dependent on time.

Like I have to wait for my meds to kick in. When to take more, when the time is right,
and when to eat.

Legit medical, scripts, to deal with pain and problems I did to myself. Take Benzos on an empty stomach. Oxy, works better if , I, take it on an empty stomach for legit pain, then wait a certain amout of minutes and try eating, some food.( you play, you pay).

Prisoners with non life or sentences that are Not basically life. Unless, reincarnation was real.

Imagine that, over an over getting life.

I would be the biggest, pro-death penalty advocate ever.

Hoping, to not end up in North Korea, the next time and so on. LMAO.

Me: Well this is better than, The Gulag, referring to almost any other prison or "re-education camp).
--------
Alcohol: count your drinks, ( I did when I had shit to do). But then again the 90's were my 60's, so explaining and remembering, much of it is complicated.( don't remember, and too drunk and or wasted too care).

I learned to count a lot better after dropping out of College( University).lol

Once, I Had waited in the county drunk tank, for about 16 hours, but they said I was still drunk. At the time, thwe legal limit in America was .l0 BAL or (.08) and I had to wait about 6 hours till I blew a bal below drunk. ( I Think it was still .10 BAL, here at least in my state).

Not a DUI, just walked and went to the wrong place, very very drunk.

It was an SUI. Staggering Under the Influence. ( disorderly conduct ticket and a fine). Fucking Gaurds took my gold necklace and gave me check, instead of my cash.

WTF. It was cold, evening and worst of all there was a liquor shop within several hundred meters. From this county lock up. ( SADISTIC ASSHOLES !!!!!!). They knew I had no plastic( credit cards on me) in my wallet. They even took the change.
This was when pay phones were still being used. ( over 25 years ago). lol

Nothing serious. I was being( irresponsible at being; responsible). I wasn't driving. One instance, and one of many similar things.

Also, Einstein. Look up the time and light speed, stuff. I jus woke up. I need my meds to kick in. (Too hungry but, then I have to wait for one of them to be digested).

Also I don't want to waste any Valium( Diazepam). Or taking the chance.( legit script). Wasting 10mg Valiums,(legit) is still a waste.

So timing of eating, in terms taking certain meds is important.( This is a Bluelight type example, don't take when you shouldn't). Harm Reduction.

The necklace stolen.🤬

The cash wasn't and I had a decent amount of money on me. Every penny I had ended up on a chasiers check.

It's days like this in the UK that I always get so nostalgic for Norway at this time of year.
Yeah you got 3-5 hours of Sun per day & when it got dark it was pitch black, so bad you had to wear high vis jackets when out or you had a high chance of being run over, dogs wore Xmas lights around their neck when on walks as if they ran off into the woods they may never be seen again but to go for long walks in the woods had such a "feeling / vibe" to it I cannot express it in words, it's the kind of feeling the Hippie lot that hug trees go on about I guess.

"When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
A chill rises
From the soil
And contaminates the air
Suddenly
Life has new meaning."

Taking the sledge out which you could steer was amazing too, you go so much faster over several inch of frozen Ice than you do over compacted snow.

So me a favour @Pissed_and_messed take a photo from your home looking out so I can get an idea what it's like in Finland at this time of year.

This cold snap is reminding me of the movie The Day After Tomorrow, and although it's a bad movie, I can't help but enjoy it, and have watched it a few times.

With the special effects of the deadly icy 'plume' being the best thing about the movie imho, we see it ever expanding right to the threshold of the group of survivors hunkered down in New York's main library, making a roaring fire out of all the antique, rare, and classic books, in a desperate bid to keep the cold at bay.

If they'd just burned wooden chairs, tables, and shelving instead, like any normal or logical 'survivalists' with any sense would have done, that wouldn't have given the group anything to argue about  .

It's a dumb movie, but with -5c and -6c forecast over here over the next couple of days, I'm not burning my rare books, but I have turned my central heating boiler up the 3rd notch (an extremely rare event) and tried to seal any drafts coming from 3 main places. (windows and doors.)

Those draft excluder long cushion things are pretty effective for sealing the drafts getting in through any gaps at the bottom of doors, I must get some more of those, but in the meantime I've improvised some other items to do the same thing.

The quality in this pic is stupidily constant, what device was this shot with, if you mind?

I was wearing three layers in bed with a duvet and a blanket, and I still got too cold to sleep. Thankfully I have someone to turn the heating on in the night and turn it off once it's warm. Lets hear it for flatmates who work nights. Even if they do sometimes wake you up. And put a real dent in your gas bill.

Bloody -9⁰c this morning and was still -9 at midday. Although the council claims they had gritted main roads last night, you wouldn't know it. The roads were/are treacherous, couldn't get above 2nd gear for hours.

Apparently, rock salt loses its efficacy once it gets below -5 and completely stops working at all at -10.

We very rarely get snow where I live, so this morning was quite a shock. I've not seen anything like it round my way since 1995.

I'm glad you're educated about gritting. And that fact too! Never had a clue.

Last year people at work were claiming that they were sending the gritting vans out to pretend they were doing something. It'd be cheaper to actually grit the roads than it would to pretend to, and who the fuck was going to see it anyway?

We've got snowy pavements, so going out will be fun.

I also wore 3 layers last night, a thermal base layer, including thermal leggings and top, thick sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and a quite thick but soft and comfy, fleece type hoody top, with fur style inner lining. Hood on. 2 pairs of socks, with thick outer socks. The same pairs that I'd had on all day.

Plus a winter tog duvet, and 3 blankets. One of them a big heavy one, that was folded in 2, so effectively 4 layers of blankets.

I was not cold. Nor too hot. On previous weeks I've had to take my hoody off, and only used 1 or 2 blankets, as I've become too hot, but that definitely did not happen last night.

I only just about registered that the bed felt cold through all my layers just as I got in, but that wore off within a few seconds.

I never heat my bedroom, no matter how cold it gets.

I'ts not due to miserliness, I genuinely like a cold bedroom, as long as it's very snug and warm inside my bed, and body heat usually soon takes care of that, although I guess I'd reach my limit at some point.

If it was minus 10c or even colder for a prolonged period, so that my house would eventually loose it's residual temp of +10c that it seems to maintain somehow, throughout most winters, even when the heating has not been on.

I guess the insulation and British construction standards are doing their job.

No snow in my neck of the woods. Family to both the east and west have been sending snow pictures since yesterday so it must all be blowing over me somehow. Bloody freezing though and raining in the morning apparently so I'll have some ice skating to look forward to...

Planning on visiting family Wednesday after working 6-7 days a week all through December so I'm just hoping the trains manage to keep running. Doesn't take much...
