🗣️ General Discussion 🗣️ The Weather Thread

Getting dark already and I've only been out of bed for two hours.

I guess in two weeks it'll be improving, but it's always so sloooooowwwww.
Yeah, it's not really noticeable until the end of January, by which time there'll be an extra 30 minutes of daylight in the afternoon. And then the gradual improvements become more and more noticeable as it'll be light until around 5pm, which is obviously 'going home from work' time for a lot of people.

The winter and summer solstices seem to be coming and going at an alarmingly fast rate by now. Time is flashing by ridiculously quickly. I remember thinking sometime in the early summer that it'll soon be time for the summer solstice, far too quickly, and that the wind down to the winter solstice will begin. And here we are again almost there, but far too quickly.

The first inhabitants of this land must have arrived in spring or summer. In winter I'd have turned straight back.

I do have high dose vitamin D which helps a bit. Despite having the palest skin many people have ever seen. I had such a low level that the doctor hadn't seen it in a white person.

But yeah, it seemed like last year went from the Vernal Equinox to the summer Solstice very quickly. Don't know whether that's getting old or what.

One of my blood tests picked up low vitamin D and I was prescribed high strength tablets for a while, presumably it'll be a regular thing so I'm taking what I hope is a decent multivitamin daily now over the winter months.

I think it is ageing that makes time seem to pass by more and more quickly. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I may look it up on youtube to find out.

So weather in Scotland is as nice as they say it is.lol

Sorry, I keep thinking of that Eurythmics( mis ?) video; Here Comes the Rain, again
( mis. nmd?)

We actually had a very pleasant summer this year… and only this year 😃

Apparently it depends very much on which part of Scotland you live. We’re on the West Coast which apparently has about double the annual rainfall of the Amazon. Whilst the East Coast has less rain than Barcelona. Watched a vid on it last night as it happens.

OH YEAH, THE NORTH ATLANTIC. UGH
The east would be calm compared to the (North Sea?)
the sea above Scotland where the oil rigs are? North Atlantic in general is horrible; especially during winter.

That’s the one. And to the north there’s the gap between Iceland and Sweden. You just know that’s gonna be braw weather wise =D

There is an official reason for it but I've forgot what it was due to advancing age! Is it something about a baby at 3 - another year is like a quarter of it's life, when you get to our age it's a tiny fraction of your life. (I may have got that wrong)

Could be that, but it could also be that the older you get, the more shit you have to juggle in life. When there's a lot going on, time seems to pass more quickly. Plus the fact that when you're older, you're more conscious of the passing of time because basically, it's running out for you.

When you're young with no responsibilities, you seem to have all the time in the world - which you do, until you don't.

Like everything, time is relative.

But is time real..?
