First night with my cold weather blanket. Wasn't really cold, but the temperature fall was tangible.
Out in beautiful September sunshine earlier. I wore my big coat but it was undone. If I could supernaturally alter the multiple conditions required, I'd have Britain on a cycle between April and September.
Fuck those numbered months. The Romans couldn't even be arsed to name them. And fuck January too, because Caesar sucked Janus' cock so much that we got a meaningless New Year.

Enjoying the cigar on the back step, albeit in a coat. There won't be too many more days that'll be feasible.
No cat friends this year. I made a friend a couple of years back and she was lovely, but she couldn't stand me closing the back door and would scream until I opened it. Then come back inside and sit down. I'd leave the door open (in early winter, with security grate) and she'd be happy with that, but then she'd come and sleep on my bed.
I got a bit guilty that she seemed to be moving in and she looked like a healthy cat, so I discouraged her from sleeping over. Big regret now; I should've had her checked for a chip and adopted her if there was none.
The next one was a male kitten. Balls very much intact. He would HOWL all night wanting to come in, but I was scared that being intact he'd mark 'his'territory. I still let him in for a cuddle and a sleep on weekend mornings.
He disappeared for a while and then made an appearance last autumn. Still remembered where the treats came from. Haven't seen him since, but I'm hoping he's doing alright.

Today was glorious! Could do with a few more days like this before winter truly sets in

Yeah, December is by far the worst month, for the cold and the dark, and you know you haven't even reached the worst until the solstice around the 21st. I'm NOT a fan of christmas and all the hysteria either. But I like the extra 2 days off work obviously. Jan and Feb may be just as cold, or even colder, but at least the days are getting longer. And you know spring's approaching.
I quite like Autumn now, apart from the hidden dog shit in the fallen leaves, and spring has become my favorite season, over summer. I've gone off excessive heat, and now prefer the milder warmth of spring. And I love watching all the trees and plants burst back to life. The only problem is that we only seem to get sustained dry and sunny springs every 5 years or so, most of the others are washouts. The spring this year was glorious.
If I had supernatural powers I'd cycle our weather between March and May (and also make sure that they stay mostly dry too, while I'm at, as you might as well go the whole way if you have such powers.

I love a good Cigar, I only get one a month when I paid from a local shop that sells proper booze.

100% with you on this one, I find the whole drama way too drawn out for something that is at the most 2 days long.
It's like walking through a DMZ trying to avoid hidden mines.
A few weeks ago I was walking in the local woods having a Spliff as I had a bad day of depression & was thinking bad ideas but I find going out alone into the woods, sit down on my favourite fallen tree & smoke a spliff lifts my mood, I ended up stepping into a huge dog shit, I am sure the dog had been using opiates & had gone into withdrawl due to the size of the poo, I had to use a hosepipe to blast the shit off my trainers. The damn stuff merges in with the fallen leaves as it's the same kinda colour.

Last night was bloody freezing, when I went to get some Rizla this morning it was freezing & had that horrible rain that comes in sideways at a 90* angle.
I always find the worst temp is around 10*c to 1*c, when I went to Norway in January when I got off the plane the woman said "Welcome to Bergen, it is now -18*C with a 3*c windchill" so when the wind hit you it was actually -21*C & I didn't mind it that much, when it gets way below 0*c for me it doesn't feel that bad, I know that sounds odd but it's true.
As my ex's mother always used to say "Their is no such thing as bad weather, just a choice of bad clothing" & she has a point.
I have my eye on one of those jackets that looks like a padded sleeping bag for my birthday or at the worst Xmas.
On and off drizzle, occasionally working up to light rain, but mostly just drizzle. Definitely getting chillier - solidly in the single digits now. Touch if mist yesterday, which was nice

New England, eh? From what I’ve seen on TV/movies that region does seem kinda Englandy actually. I’m in n Scotland (originally from England) and even on this tiny island the weather varies significantly from region to region

Sunny and partially cloudy but looks like rain coming again some time today. Also cool but warming. We took a walk to the local corner store earlier. It was nice to get out for a minute but stressed the whole time.

The original parts of the USA are fascinating to me and I'm obsessed with the Appalachian area, the music and culture from there is really interesting to me.
Places like the Mississippi delta Virginia, South Carolina are parts of the USA I want to see before I die.

its been mined out, the land and water poisoned. air quality is questionable at best. years ago people died from the mills (steel, coke etc) in donora pa... probably not the only instance i know its not. the youth are paying for it being born with disabilities, illnesses etc.

Beautiful out side 81 F 53 C ,in the 70 s all week which is great when its been triple digits for months on end.
Surprisingly warm for the time of year, but lousy with wind and rain
