Television The Walking Dead

^ lol, love it.

This episode was pretty fucking awesome. My favorite part was when Maggie said "Did you SEE that!" with a huge grin on her face. I sort of reveled in the whole them enjoying taking the walkers out this episode. It was exciting and not painful sad-sack for once. I had forgotten how exciting that part of the comics was the first time around. They really brought it to life this episode. Also, I'm enjoying Carl being a badass and Lori getting her what-fer by Rick for being such a selfish liar during all that time. Oh, and as Axl said a while ago they picked the perfect actor to play Michonne. She's just as hardcore in the show as she is in the comics and perhaps a little softer with the whole Andrea situation. Grade: A

P.S. Anybody else doing the Story synch or sweepstakes this season? I enjoyed the synch with Breaking Bad and this is very much the same.

Zombies in full body armor, you've got to be kidding me! Season three just couldn't have started out any better IMO.
 
it's actually really hard to make a silencer, you certainly need more than a mag-lite for it.
and even the best of silencers, like, the ones made for special forces are really loud.

the walking dead is so funny.
 
I liked watching the old doctor dude getting part of his leg chopped off... lol.. And the whole jail complex thing.

Great show, am hooked again already waiting for more.
 
Great first episode to a new season. Michone as expected is awesome as fucking hell. I wonder how they are going to work out them meeting up with the main group again.

because one was clearly made out of a mag-lite and the other one out of a sawed-off baseball bat. not that it ultimately matters, and it certainly isn't impossible, you'll just need very precise tools and good base materials and a lot of technical knowledge to pull that off

Guy I work with is going to borrow me the 1st and 2nd seasons.. I've nevr seen the show but I'm excited to start watching it.
 
Tonight's episode was kind of a let down. I expected a zombie killing scene that could be basically Part 2 of the craziness of last week when they decided to clear out the ward for the other prisoners. Oh well.

I'm glad Rick decided to get hardcore with these guys. Him leaving out that guy with the zombies to die seemed callous at first but in retrospect why should he have to look over his shoulder 24/7 for him when Rick was basically doing him a favor by helping them clear out their own ward. Rick's death sentence was probably the right move.

Any guesses on who was peaking at Carol from the forest? Is it someone from the colony?


Overall: 3/5, I'm glad Michonne & Andrea come back next week and we get to introduced to the colony... oh, and the helicopter scene is going to be awesome.
 
Apparently, everyone is in a catatonic state after all the excitement from last night's episode, hence the lack of discussion. I have never been held so rapt by television!

Rick is not to be fucked with. And a c-section on a zombie cadaver?! I would love to know the sick fuck who thought that one up! Oh, and it was gut-wrenching to listen to Rick and Darryl explain to the prisoners what was going on. It's been 10 months and they still know so little. I like how they don't use the word 'zombie'. The prisoners requests/responses as they are attempting to wrap their heads around it. It made it all go back to S1:E1 with Rick leaving the hospital, for me. Poor Big Tiny :( . Tomas' face as he took out Big Tiny was ruthless. He was a frightening dude. I watched The Talking Dead after, uh, I did not know that Andrew Lincoln was English. Ha! Such a dainty beautiful accent!

Edit- aCk! Amy, I'm sorry, I didn't see a response above! I was kinda floored by this episode. When Tomas opened that door to a throng of walkers, it was intense. And that other part with Tomas, mentioned above. I'm curious about the peek too. Seemed a bit "cheesy", but eh. I know nothing of this colony, so I'm not as excited for it. The prison has been great so far. But, that grey-haired dude looks like a threat. Whoever he is. I'm, also, loving the "favorite walkers" or "grossest moments" they're putting up by the crew. Really nice memories. ;)

^ Haha. I don't know why I didn't like last night's episode. Maybe I'll give it another shot...

I fall in love with Daryl a little more every episode. I thought it was very sweet and sincere when he said "sorry about your friends". You know that kinda talk doesn't come easily for him so he must have really meant it.

I try watching The Talking Dead but I loathe the host. He talks way too loudly and basically spends the entire show sucking whoever is guest starring's cock instead of learning actual interesting things about the show. Oh well.
 
1st time I've ever watched it. I really try to avoid those let's-talk-about-the-show-we-just-watched-shows (i'm looking at you MTV). It reminds me too much of ESPN. And, that's Chris Hardwick, the host. I used to have such a crush on him when he hosted Singled Out with Jenny McCarthy (am I dating myself yet?).

But, good call, not very informative. I was packing, though, and didn't want to change the channel. If you haven't heard Andrew Lincoln's true accent- the actor who plays Rick, YouTube it!

There was a lot of chatter on The Talking Dead about Daryl meeting back up with Merle and if he'll pull away from the group.

I have the 1st season in my purse, and I'm excited to start watching. I think it looks gr8 and idk why I haven't watched it before.

If you mean colony as in the Governor's colony no I don't think so. Well in the comics they had to find out from someone they captured first before they find the prison so yeah.


Thought this was a great episode. Loved how he killed that prisoner after he basically threw a zombie in his face. Machete to the fucking head. Awesome. It looks like the Governor is being introduced next episode. SO EXCITED!!!!!

i've always hated that trope in fiction. basically what a silencer (or to use the correct technical term, supressor) does is reduce the sound of a gunshot, which depending on caliber is something like 140-160dbs. it's still very clearly audible though. the real use is that with a proper supressor a gunshot doesn't sound much like a gunshot anymore.

also why is it that almost every character is more likeable in the comics?
