The ultimate gamer thread, aka 'Geek my Forum'

Hopefully I get motivated to play some eye candy goodness. Just bought a gtx 570 and 128gb crucial m4 SSD. Pc is old but good still I guess, AMD 1055t @ 4.07ghz, 8gb ram and about 6 or 8 tb of data drive space, lost count heh.

That plus true unlim adsl2+ net = good times for pc, if I find motivation (and time!) to game it up. Got about 1.5tb on my 8mbit link last quota month. Well, off to bed, xanax kickimg in, my daughter's 2nd b/day tomorrow, daylight savings = best I forced myself for an early night. Plus lotsa drunk footy bogans playing loud crap (radio or some lame mix tape) close to us, probably keeping our daughter from sleeping good, may make it hard on her for her bday if she's worn out.

Stupid cocksuckers, probably 'party' 2 or 3 nights a year. Well, might try to organise some pc gaming fun times via here?

Been going strong now for about 5 years - but definately looking forward to D3 coming out (unless I die before it comes out!!!)

Well, hopefully I get to use my Star Wars TOR beta invite this weekend! Last one I got was the same weekend I was away for the Aussie MotoGP bleh. I told my wife I'll need 'time off' so I can nerd it up for a bit and play TOR while the kids are awake, I'll naturally play it when they are sleeping, not much planned for this weekend, had my face swell up from sinusitis starting Monday, another bleh but it helped me to make this weekend free, then the TOR invite arrived =D

OK, back to daddy duties and watching after Cassie!
 
So fucking stoked for the beta haha, I've been waiting 3 years for this. And release is less than a month away!
 
Never played any in the SR series, but I do buy them day one ;) Just to support the stuff :D

The majority of Oceanic players (from Whirlpool and the guilds connected to it at least) will be playing on Shii-Cho, so if you're there I'll say hi :)
 
No idea yet, literally stopped looking into the game (researching it) ages ago when I read it was coming out possibly in 2012. Then we had Declan get born, time just flew, so I know stuff all of what's happened in the game. Going to do some quick reading if I get time tonight, currently massaging my wife's feet heh. Oh Yeah, got jaded big time when I read crafting was being put as a 'low impact' with towards game play, as in crafting won't have major effect like it did in Star Wars Galaxies pre NGE. I love crafting play style , only played SWG, then Lord of the Rings Online for the most in Mmorpg.

Recommend anything? I presume I should get lots of game time, my wife is away most of the weekend and maybe even Monday (Tuesday?), so nerding it up for once! Been a year or three since I have gamed all weekend.
 
Uh, I wouldn't really know what to recommend :P depends if you want to use a lightsaber or not really. I plan on trying a Bounty Hunter during the beta (among others) as I'm rolling a Sith Inquisitor on release.

Since the beta is all weekend and it sounds like you'll have the time, you should just give them all a try and see which one suits you most.
 
Yeah just gotta see how my arm /shoulder handles the game playing, just got 112 oxycontins(my months pain script of oxys). So I should be able to manage my arm pain!

That wasn't worth waking up at 3-4am.. All servers full, waited 1/2 hr to get into smallest queue one, and hmm, 4ish hrs, Im bored now. Level 8 or 9? Oh well, I think MMOs aren't for me anymore (thankfully), our kids are more fun :D
 
Scratch that! I jumped back in, did another quest, ended up being the class quest and I got a companion.. OH WELL, it helped immensely. The stuff that was killing me (as in I was TRYING to kill stuff on an island for quests) is now being helped to be destroyed with my companion. I'm not in a guild or could get PUG'ed but now with the extra help, Im doing the island stuff (savrips).. WOW... Very happy indeed! I think I'm going to buy this now, sorry to my poor wife and stuff, I'm going to be taking time off from helping raise the kids it seems ;) Not too much though! She looks after me with my injury by cooking ALL the meals since my gimp arm can't cook/chop etc..

heh.. So.. looks like I may get hooked! Time will tell..... Plus 280 mg oxycontin helped as well ;)
