Well I have made the switch from snorting to injecting (heroin) and even though injecting is by far a superior form of administration it has its own unique drawbacks. This is what I would like to ask some of you seasoned veterans about and hopefully get some positive feedback.
The question is. Tomorrow I am going to be out all day and before when this would happen I would just pack up a travel bag and go to a bathroom and snort as needed. Well injecting makes it a little more difficult. I would like to be able to inject tomorrow but it is going to be difficult to cook up a shot and since I don't want to leave a shot premixed for an extended period of time due to the fact it will turn to morphine I think you can see my dilemma.
Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeves to deal with this type of situation that I am missing here?
Any input is appreciated.
 
huh....I used to make "wake up"shots before I went to bed, so I could turn over as soon as I woke up (usually earlier than I wanted to, due to early-morning fiending), and I never encountered any probs......I would also sometimes load up 4-5 rigs and put them (needles covered) in a safe box in my backpack and bring them to work, so I wouldn't spend too much time prepping in the workplace bathroom....

I was getting East-Coast tan powder tho.....what'rre you dealing with????

^^^I mean, as far as the solution turning into something other than diluted diacetylmorphine......no.......I didn't encounter that......I would even shoot rigs that had been loaded for 24hours+ w/no neg. effects......


g/l.....you should be fine.....I use to "pre-load" rigs and bring them w/me all the time, and never had a prob.....:)
 
^^^ I was under the impression that after a few hours after adding water to diamorphine it would hydrolisys back into morphine. Did the shots that were preloaded 24hours+ before use have different effects then a freshly prepped shot?
 
I am dealing with Chi town tan/whitish powder

What did you mix your shots with?

I am using filtered water.

Did you notice any diference?

It would...but morphine is better than nothing in the sick morning hours...
 
when I was a junkie i could rig up and be done in no time. To reduce time spent in the bathroom prepare everything first ie:

* crush up H into individual hits (wrap in paper)
* fill fixes with water
* carry in a sturdy box

dont over do it
 
Your concern...

Hydolysis will occur, but over an extended peiod of time. If it is only a day you have nothing at all to worry about. the tiny amount of conversion will not effect your experience in any noticeable way. Have fun, be safe.
 
Are you sure? I seem to recall fastandbulbous (or some other mod?) quoting a figure closer to 2 hours in a recent thread...

bottom line..you gotta do what you gotta due. It will definitely keep you from going into w/d so what diff does it really make under the OP circumstances?
 
It's after that period (2 hours) that they're advised to not use it in hospital due to hydrolysis. It does hydrolyse fairly quickly, but I really can't see the problem as it's not hydrolysing into an inactive compound - morphine might not be as potent, but it does have a longer duration of action.

If you're desparate to slow down the hydrolysis reaction, get one of those cool bags for keeping stuff at refrigerator temp (2'C) - every drop of 10'C slows the rate of hydrolysis by half, so reducing the temp of the soln in the syringes from room temp (say 22'C - to make the maths easier!) to 2'C, you reduce the rate of hydrolysis to a quarter (20'C drop is 2 x 2 fold drop in reaction rate) - that extends the hospital cut off time (about 30-50% hydrolysis) to 8 hours. Obviously if you live somewhere like Texas or Florida, the difference can be 25-30'C (6.25-9 x reduction in rate of room temp hydrolysis), but that's not a problem we're ever likely to encounter in Britain ('cos it's always fuckin' cold & wet! 8) )

You might be recalling the difference in opinion that he and I had over that purification method that recommended hydrating the purified powder and placing it in vials for future use. Fast did have me there but not in a 2 hour period. In fact, it does beging to happen almost instantaneously but not to any noticeable degee. If you are going to use it the same [or even early the next day], don't worry.

For those interested, there are tons of papers on it. Google "Hydrolysis of heroin [or alternately diacetyl-], or degradation to mam-6, etc. You should find enough to satisy you.
 
Having a shot of morphine is better than nothing at all, keep in mind, especially when you're fiending while travelling, which is its own special brand of suck.

Just be thankful you haven't had to figure out how to get needles on an airplane when you don't have a prescription and you're in a state that requires a prescription to purchase/possess needles.

I'm looking forward to that dilemma.
 
i dont think it would be a good idea to attempt takeing them on any flight

on a side note if you decide to try i hear that you can get great smack in prison

Indeed. I don't think I would ever try. But it will present a unique challenge next time I have to fly. I guess I should just get clean.
 
maybe not the prison you were in .but here in ca it is a documented fact that heroin is available.

take a look at the recent post in drugs in the media concerning the death row overdose in san quentin ..

i also base my statement on what was told to me by my now deceased uncle who spent more than half his life in and out of ca prisons ,also recent talks with mmt patients who just got out of the joint.

the post i referred to also states that due to the recent ban on all tobacco products that the price of a pouch of tobacco is the same as the price of dope 80.00 per:\
 
here is what i used to do! i'n the good ol' days i used to carry an insulin sringe in my underpants and the rest of the stuff in a cigarette pack, the stuff that was in there-
small scissors to cut the bags open, a cooker made of the metal thingie from a cheap vodka bottle, a few q-tips(for the cotton), a small baggie of citric acid powder(brown israeli H), afew small vials with saline water and a good lighter ! thats all you need! the cooking gear is inside the pack and the sringe is inside your pants, it is that simple...

I used to do alot of the shit in public toilets...
