I want to take part. I'm an amateur photog and I think I have some fun ideas for him. I'm on the east coast of the states so there is nothing too exciting here though. but I'll gladly ship him overseas as well. I've been selling crap on eBay for years now, so he shouldn't be that difficult to ship.

Squeaks, you fronted the $ for buying him, you shouldn't have to cover overseas shipping as well. I'll take that responsibility if nobody else will (PM'ing my address shortly).

As for the journal, the hardcopy travelling with him is nice, but very susceptible to being lost/vandalized-by-drug-crazed-zombies/poorly-documented. Can we ALSO have people post their journal entry in this (or another appropriate thread) with the pics here in the LOUNGE, thereby preserving his journeys should anything happen to him or his journal along they way?

Update: I recieved "David" today Hooray!!!!!!

He is very light which makes me very happy.

I went ahead though and did purchase a mini "school style" journal. I will also be taking pictures with my digital camera. After his week with me I will be mailing him along with copies of the pictures.

I am looking into some web hosting sites. I think I am alloted some web space with my isp have to call them up and find out more info though since they are idiots there and do not even know what an FTP program is when I called them last lol.

I could just start a new thread with his journies but we all know how disorganized threads can get so I think it will look nicer on a web page.

Along with the hard copy of pictures/journal there will also be an online version of his journal/pictures along with a map of where he has gone to :). People who have him can just email me journal entries/pics to be included on the site.

Also there were a few people who said they wanted to participate(Simon, euphoricnod,TLB) but I have not yet recieved their contact information currently the list of recipients is as follows:

Since its been years since I dabbled in HTML editing the web site will be simple unless anyone thinks they could make a killer page quickly for me :)

I am allowed 90mb of space for a personal web space from my isp. They finally fixed my ftp login :)

Okay I have the web site up and running..

Please forgive me since as stated earlier it's been ages since I used HTML so it's not as pretty as some web pages.

I wish I could make the pic of the gnome transparent but there are way too many options in Photoshop and I get too confused :(

If anyone would like to help me out with simple web design(made the site in minutes) send me a pm :)

Whoohoo... Update:

David is having a blast with me and his week is almost up :( I took some pictures although I wouldve liked to have had the oppurtunity to take more. I tried to take his pic in Pennsylvanias First Casino on opening day yesterday but got in trouble(no photographs in the building). I did however win some money so he must've been my good luck charm! I will be taking him out for his last day with me on Friday then sending him out shortly after.

I got another address.. looks like David will also be going to Iraq to fight some terrorists :)


Whoohoo will add his journal/pics shortly. I have been working so many double shifts I havent had much time to do anything.
 
sorry I never got you my info, still figuring out if I'm moving or not...
Doesn't matter though, I'll get to see the gnome when Animal Cookie has ahold of it
