Black Oil Finger Hash Method

http://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/25128-black-oil-finger-hash-using.html

This is Black Oil Finger Hash Method that i've found but I have a few questions.I Pm'ed them weeks ago to author but i didnt got a response.

1.Will i yeld something thats enough to get high with ditch weed??? lets say i use pound of buds, leaves, stems? buds lookin good. You can see trichomes with a naked eye.Looks really nice.

2.He said make a few holes in a jar lid for breathing but wont the alchocol evaporate in mean time when turning into that black water???

3.Should i do this or Qwiso???

probably. i'm on that site too and it's a pretty legit method.

yea, go with QWISO or BHO. they are superior methods. you'll get a higher quality product.

Some people soak the bud for 30 seconds and some are doing it for 24 hours!

I done a 45 second soak/shake last night in iso and it should be evaporated completly in 12 more hours. Something tell me I wasted a fuckload of THC it's just a gut feeling.

I'm also drying out the weed leftovers from the 45 second extraction and i'm going to smoke a few hits too see if it gets me high. If it gets me pretty high I know a longer soak is needed.

^All you would have done is removed excess plant materials by soaking it longer and recieve a larger quanity of less potent hash. If you wash it for 30 seconds or less the hash will be fairly potent and you wouldnt have wasted any thc. I ve used the qwiso method to make probaly an ounce or more of hash and experimented with soak times alot and have found that the only differnece with a longer soak is a lot less potent hash but more of it.

So here's my results from a 45 second shake using 2.5g of Dank in freezing cold Iso.

Here's the tin I used to evaporate the light yellow/green liquid. After 48 hours it was completly dry.

Using a razor blade I scrape it up into a big sticky glob ready too dip a pin in and apply to hot knifes.

When I hold the oil up to the sun it was a very blood red color as seen using the camera flash. The is supposed to be a sign of good oil

Was a beautiful smoke and feels like a very clean high. I have NO paranoia while doing oil hits ... wich was why I tried this. The paranoia from Buds was getting to be way too much too the point of me not smoking for months. Thank you Hash thread now I can get crazy high like the good ol' days.

^I didn't weigh but am very sure it was around the half Gram mark. So you could say about 20% of the weight in buds roughly.

Next time I will soak the bud for longer as I smoked a single hit from the weed I used for the extraction and it still had a very solid wack of THC in it.

I just did the extraction.

I mixed 4.5L of 100% iso alcohol with my first batch of trim and leaves. I'm not sure how much there was but probably around 2 pounds. I let the grinded plant material soak in the alcohol and stirred for about 60 seconds. Then I used a thin cotton clothe to filter it. I was left with about 4L of greenish liquid. I put the liquid in a plate near a window wide open with a small fan pushing air outside the house. I didn't apply any heat either. It's been sitting for around 2 hours now and the level has not dimished substantially. However I can clearly see that there is layers forming.

The smell isnt so strong in the room where its evaporating but still i'm a bit uncomfortable doing this lol. I sure took my time to apply all precautions and didnt apply any heat to the mixture.

I will report back tomorow when I wake up maybe with pics :)

So I let the thing evaporate near the window for 24 hours now and the level in the plate has lowered only by 15%

I'm looking for safe ways to get the mixture warm to speed up things.

A fan is a safe method but your already using one ... Why not just wait?

You could use an element on the stove like this one as it has no flame to ignite the Iso.

I have no hotplate at all and I contacted all my friends but was unable to secure one. I'm thinking of putting it on the stove at minimum with fans running to prevent vapor from accumulating inside

i have heard horror stories involving indoor iso runs. if possible do small runs, and reuse alcohol.
ie: wash 1 cup bud/shake with 3 cups alcohol, strain, and then reuse thc saturated alcohol to wash a second cup of bud and so on. i have had pretty good yeilds doing this. it also helps if you have one of those loose tea strainers

these are actually super handy for alcohol thc extactions

but yeah be super careful indoors with this stuff. dont cook off like 2 litres of alcohol at once. lol

good luck!

I have about 4L ;-(

Well in the room there is not a strong alcohol odor and its evaporating fairly slowly right now suggesting that the saturation of the room is far too low for an accident.

With the huge window wide open and the fan runnin at full speed Im sure its safe right now. I read that the evaporation speed of the alcohol should get quicker as the volume diminishes but so far i'm not impressed lol

Finally I decided to use a powerful halogen light to warm the mixture. I have set it about 4'' from the mixture. I tested with my hand and warm does radiate and reach the alcohol. I also set a small fan behind the setup to push the air/vapor mix torward the window and leave the other fan in the window to push this outside. I added the ladder to make sure the fan doesnt fall behind and in the evaporating mixture in case of a wind gust :) The vibration of the small fan that also reach the mixture and stirs smootlhy but constantly
