^hugs, congrats, and all good things to you, wife, and daughter
I'm still not a parent or planning to be anytime soon. I did adopt a baby, though - and she's kicking my butt! She's a Siberian Husky doggie. I've posted some photos on here and also on FB.
Chloe is a dog that could easily star in a movie. She's a little hyper, loves to run, and forgets that she's a decent sized dog (~40 lbs). At my present project, I'm happy to see kids and dogs interacting sweetly.
My heart started racing when a little 2 1/2 year old came running up to where my dog and I were standing (I was making notes for work) and
asked to hug my doggie. Chloe is a lover, not a fighter - but my dog and I are still getting to know each other. Huskies aren't amateur night even when they are calm.
I hugged Chloe first and invited the little girl to pet Chloe's head gently so that Chloe would become her friend. My heart started racing faster. The little girl's mom was right there and said it was OK. Little one gave my dog a beautiful hug and didn't want to let go - the two were so sweet, calm, smiley, and everyone around saw it too.
Parents - in what aspects are you proud of your children? What personality traits would you like for your children to inherit?
