I'm tentatively single, I think that's what it's called. There's plans on both sides to get back together. For now, we're having a break without enjoying other people (I hope).
 
So I saw my last ex girlfriend today at a supermarket up the coast. She was there with a dude she must be going out with now. She saw me coming and ignored me, but made a point of cuddling and kissing the dude. :/

Her daughter was there, I should have said hello to her. I never had a problem with her :)

Possibly, but not in every circumstance. Considering he called me today asking for suggestions for what I want for Christmas, and when I said the Lonely Planet Japan guide is something I need, he thought that was a bit too impersonal and wanted to get me something more special. He was more thinking along the lines of jewelery, and simply wanted to know whether I preferred gold/silver or white gold.

My opinion, also from experience, is that the break creates an emotional wedge that will either be in the front of one or both parties minds at the worst of times or shut away in the back of the mind in the best of times.

There could always be a certain element of doubt
 
That is a major down grade, Yarni. What were you thinking? You're probably just better off pining after me and hanging around outside my bedroom window hoping to catch a glimpse :D
