Television The Simpsons

of course we can't forget this one and of course this

bringing up family guy in a simpsons thread is sacrilege :(

homer: "funky"

Hahaha, "You Only Move Twice" is still one of my favorite episodes.

I dont think they should pull the plug on the series. Just because a lot of avid fans dont get the same thrill out of it, doesnt mean other people dont. If any of those people become fans, and look up to old episodes in awe then its all been worthwhile.

On an unrelated note, while pumping gas today I noticed there was a sign that said 10% Ethanol and I kept thinking of the episode where Homer notices Ralphs "Alcohol Fueled Car" in the Science Fair.

"One for you.... One for me" haha

this has quickly turned into an appreciation thread, and there already is one of those somewhere. mods wanna merge?

^Why? Reminiscing about funnier times in the show's history is more testament to the thread topic than an appreciation thread. Merging would be a hasty move.

I'm firmly in the "should have pulled the plug years ago" camp. There are entire seasons of this show I have not seen, because of the rapid decline in quality post-2000 (I think I gave up watching sometime in 2002). Every now and then I catch a decent new on in syndication, but there hasn't been a draw for me to be watching every new episode on Sunday nights like I used to. Perhaps I am expecting too much for a show to grow up with me and hold my interests (I distinctly remember watching the premiere Christmas special back in 1989). I literally grew up watching this program on TV. Despite not watching, it's almost a security blanket thing--you man not use it, but knowing it's there is comforting.

I can agree that as long as the show causes people to go back and revisit the glory years, I'm fine with it staying around. It is probably one of the only decent things Fox has left.

I maintain this is the greatest Simpsons of all time. At least it's my favorite.

Itcy and Scratchy Land and You Only Live Twice are certainly top 10 material though.

Me too and well said. :)

It's not in that one but it has to do with the union thing
