The Sad Thread (Anti-Snoo) 2 - Tory Britain in Flames

Our cat was run over and killed this evening, lady who hit her took her to the vets and they contacted us , mrs strung out and baby strung out are in floods , I'm pretty fucking upset myself , absolutely gutted.
Rip kitten. ❤️

Oh that's dreadful , I'm so incredibly sorry. That happened to us a few years back n it's awful because they become part of the family. Sorry for you n your family 's loss especially for children xxxx

Thanks evey. Yeah they do become part of the family, just picked her up from the vets and buried her in the garden, kept my daughter off school as she's so upset.
Goin up the garden centre to buy somthing pretty to plant on her grave.

Awh that'll be lovely - somewhere your daughter can go n think about the cat, when she's upset or a reassurance. It can't have been easy having to bury her n pick her up from the vets, knowing she 's now gone :( sorry that you had to go through that.

When Black died last November, we asked a neighbour, who is an actual undertaker, to bury her in the garden - and explained to lilvibe that Black's now in heaven happily with the other cats. I had to say she gets buried n then her spirit is transported to another world. It's so very hard to explain these things to kids isn't it?

I hope your daughter gets some comfort in what you plant on your cats grave n I hope that she feels better soon.

I've just had a call with some bad news. My brother-in-laws Dad passed away suddenly. I'm not sure of the details yet but he had some sort of bad fall a couple of days ago, ended up with multiple organ failure on life support & they pulled the plug yesterday.

I'd only met him a couple of times but it's sad news indeed. :(

OMG so very sorry to hear that, Chatty. Here if you need someone to talk to xxxx

It's looking very likely that my dog is going to have to be put down, he's 15 now and not going to be around forever but still :( been with me since I was 13 years old.

Sorry. :( <3

We had to put down our Irish Wolfhound when I was like 5 or so, I don't remember it that well but I remember going to the vet in the back of the car but I didn't quite understand the dog wasn't coming back.

So he's gone :(. He was a Jack Russell terrier Dan. Such a great breed of dog, they are small but think they are about the size of a horse. Dogs enthusiasm for life is infectious isn't it? You can't help but be happy around them. Really don't know what to do with myself now.

See you on the other side little man :(<3

A Jack Russell that we got for free from a lollipop lady used to look after my little sister and I. Swear she was 80% human at the very least. She lived until our teens. Lovely breed of dog.

I feel for your loss. I still carry photos of my dog (who died in 2007) in my wallet. Sounds like this has affected you in the same kinda way. Take care. <3

So confused, ive found a rehab that'll take me on, a christian one but i don't really care at this point. I want to go as soon as possible but i dont want to leave my family short of money for Christmas and me not being there for it.

That means waiting until the new year which may not seem long away but its a lifetime for me, thats 2 more months waiting not being with my loved ones then another 2 months in rehab away.

Dont know what to do.

Sad :(

@sm having been rehab myself a few times all I can really say is that only you , will know when the time is right for you to go. If you have reached that point you'll drop everything and go. Of corse being away from the family for crimbo will be shit , but so is your using.
I used every excuse in the book to get out of going You obviously have had enough mate , maybe you've reached your point. Whatever you choose , good luck mate hope things work out for you.

Cheers strung, i am definitely ready, im just worried about my family, im not in a postion to just drop everything though.

Im the sole provider, i have a mortgage and a mountain of other bills, some can be trimmed off like Virgin etc but it still equates to well over a grand just in bills, thats before food, clothes, petrol etc etv.. if i didnt have these responsibilities id of gone yesterday..

Its fucked up..

Sometimes life seems to catch up with you at the most inconvenient of times... sorry things are getting in the way of you seeking the help you need but you seem to shoulder these burdens quite stoically.

I'm sure you'll see these tough times through ok. <3

Am not sure what your employment status is Misty, but sometimes employers will be quite supportive and offer sick pay etc whilst you're in rehab, I think? Have you looked into options like that? It's a tough decision, though, agreed.. :(

Pretty sure SM is a self-employed tradesman. Something which I would love to be, but the catch is you have to work to live, and no sick pay.

Not to mention thousands of arcane tax forms to fill in. I've seen the reality, and it ruined my fantasy.

Yeah Sams got it in one.. im basically left with zero income if im not at work. Im going to have to see if my parents can loan me some money to help out whilst im off work.. :(

The tax forms are fairly easy mate, i do my own without an accountant and it takes about an hour or so once a year as long as you keep on top of it. Or you can have an accountant do it all for about £300 odd quid..

Thanks chat, i try my best.. im sure I'll find a way :)
