There seems to be no thread about the real pioneers of electronic music that we have so much to thank for. They revolutionized (electronic) music and without them electronic music would never have evolved the way it did. Many think about acid house if you say "old school electronic" music, but now we're going even further back in time.

I'm personally a big fan of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Kraftwerk and Brian Eno. I consider Jarre and Vangelis to be some of the best electronic music producers of all time. I've seen Jarre him live and his shows are amazing.

So please discuss and post your favourite tracks from the pioneers. I begin with these gems and "easy" classics:

Kraftwerk - The Robots (1977)

Giorgio Moroder - Chase (1978 )

Brian Eno - Music For Airports (1978 )

On a sidenote, while not maybe known to the wider audience, Jarre has sold over 80 million records and holds the world record for the largest ever outdoor concert audience (3,5 million, Moscow 1997).

I actually went to that concert when I was 9 (with my parents of course). :)

I was born and raised in the same town Prodigy originated (braintree). Grew up on them and Daft Punk.
